Xiaomi 17 Ultra: 200MP camera and Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 chip
The Xiaomi 17 Ultra officially launched on December 25th, featuring a 200MP telephoto camera, a 1-inch OV50X sensor, and a Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 processor, promising superior performance and photography capabilities.
Practical design and notable changes
Based on the first images released, the Xiaomi 17 Ultra will come in two color options: black and white. The overall design has undergone significant adjustments compared to the previous generation. Most notably, the large circular camera module is placed in the center of the back, with the Leica logo in the middle, confirming the strategic collaboration in photography.

A small but significant change to the user experience is that the volume up and down buttons are now separated into individual round buttons, promising a better tactile feel. On the front, Xiaomi has switched to a flat screen instead of a curved one, with larger rounded corners, giving it a modern and clean look. Notably, the secondary screen on the back has been removed in this version.
Key upgrade: Next-generation Leica camera system.
Xiaomi emphasizes the photographic capabilities of the 17 Ultra, especially in low-light conditions, positioning it as the "next-generation night photography champion." The rear camera system includes three lenses, fine-tuned by Leica.
- Main camera:Utilizing a 1-inch Omnivision OV50X sensor, it incorporates LOFIC (Lateral Overflow Integration Capacitor) technology. This technology significantly improves dynamic range, allowing for better detail capture in challenging lighting conditions such as fireworks or backlit photography.
- Periscope telephoto camera:The biggest highlight is the 200MP sensor manufactured by Samsung, which is Leica APO (Apochromatic) certified. This large module not only allows for continuous optical zoom across a wide focal length range but also supports macro photography and maintains high detail at long distances.

Top-tier performance and premium features.
In terms of processing power, the Xiaomi 17 Ultra is equipped with the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 processor, Qualcomm's top-of-the-line chip at the time of its release. This ensures powerful performance for all tasks, from basic use to high-graphics gaming.
Other technical specifications are also very impressive:
- Battery:The expected capacity is up to 6,800mAh.
- Charging:Supports 100W wired fast charging and 80W wireless charging.
- Durability:Meets dust and water resistance standards.
- Connect:Support for Ultra-Wideband (UWB) technology and satellite connectivity is available on higher-end versions.
Expected selling price
Due to rising component costs, the Xiaomi 17 Ultra is predicted to have a higher starting price than its predecessor, around 6,999 Yuan (approximately 26.16 million VND) in the domestic market.
