From above, Lo Lo Chai appears painted in warm, muted colors: dark yellow earthen walls, dark brown yin-yang tiled roofs, and moss-covered stone fences. Between the rows of houses are winding stone paths, leading from the village gate into small alleys, then circling around drying yards, gardens, and livestock pens. Everything blends together, creating a rustic, ancient whole, giving one the feeling that time is moving slower than the pace of life outside.

Walking along those rocky paths, visitors can touch the thick earthen walls and silently admire the houses nestled against the gray, jagged mountain slopes – details that create the unique appearance of this highland village at the northernmost point of the country.

In summer, the village is immersed in the lush green of trees and fields under the sun and wind of the plateau. Autumn is tranquil, the village's atmosphere becoming more peaceful, as if slowing down amidst the landscape of Dong Van.

When winter arrives, the village enters what is considered the most beautiful time of the year. In the small gardens behind the houses, persimmon trees are laden with ripe fruit, their orange-red hues standing out against the deep blue sky of the rocky plateau. Interspersed among them are hawthorn berries, small, dark red, with a distinctive tangy flavor, reminiscent of the pristine mountain forests.

On the hillsides and along the village paths, peach blossoms begin to bloom. Not flamboyant or ostentatious, the peach blossoms of the highlands possess a rustic beauty, with thin petals and a delicate pink hue, scattered on the slender branches. At the same time, the "to day" flower – a characteristic flower of Ha Giang – also blooms profusely on the branches, its soft pinkish-purple color covering many corners of the village.

The pinkish-purple blossoms blend with the yellow earthen walls, brown tiled roofs, gray rocks, and clear blue sky, creating a unique winter landscape of the Dong Van Stone Plateau.

Walking through Lo Lo Chai during the winter months, visitors can easily spot Lo Lo women in traditional attire, quietly carrying firewood, drying corn, and airing rice in front of their houses. On the stone paths through the village, children play, their footsteps and laughter echoing, breaking the silence of the mountains and forests but still retaining the warm, intimate feeling of a highland village.

The Lolo people are one of Vietnam's ethnic minorities, and Lolo Chai is where their identity is clearly expressed in every house and courtyard. The houses here are built entirely of earth, tightly packed in layers, keeping them cool in summer and warm in winter. Inside, the living spaces are simply and neatly arranged, reflecting a lifestyle in harmony with nature and a strong sense of community.

Amidst the booming tourism industry, the traditional earthen houses, stone fences, corn-drying yards, and way of life remain, creating an enduring appeal for this border village.

As evening falls, the last rays of sunlight bathe the earthen walls in a golden hue, and wisps of smoke drift lazily from each house's chimney. This scene makes the space even more gentle and warm amidst the rocky plateau.

However, for those who love the flowers and fruits of winter, this is when the village enters its most beautiful time, when persimmons ripen in the orchards, hawthorn berries are in season, and peach blossoms and jasmine bloom simultaneously across the Dong Van stone plateau.

In that setting, simple things like strolling along a stone path, stopping by a rose garden, resting by a moss-covered stone fence, or silently admiring the Lung Cu Flagpole from afar are enough to make a trip to Lo Lo Chai a memorable experience.
