Nghe An police arrested 28 individuals for gambling in the form of cockfighting for money.
Police from Vinh Loc ward, Nghe An province, and the Criminal Police Department of the provincial police unexpectedly raided a cockfighting arena, arresting 28 individuals for gambling in the form of cockfighting for money.
Earlier, at around 12 PM on December 21st, the Vinh Loc Ward Police, in coordination with the Criminal Police Department, mobilized officers and soldiers to simultaneously raid a cockfighting ring located behind the house of Ho Anh Quyet (born in 1976), residing in Block 5, Vinh Loc Ward. They caught 28 individuals, residing in the former Vinh City and Nghi Loc District, red-handed participating in gambling in the form of cockfighting.
The seized items included: 3 fighting roosters, 2 cars, nearly 60 million VND in cash, and many other mobile phones, items, and related documents.

At the police station, the suspects initially appeared uncooperative; however, faced with evidence and investigative documents, they confessed to their crimes. According to their confessions, the individuals involved in the gambling were owners of fighting cock farms in several communes and wards in the former Vinh City and Nghi Loc District. Through their acquaintances, they contacted Ho Anh Quyet to select and pair up fighting cocks. After agreeing on a match, they brought their cocks to Quyet's arena to gamble on the fights.
Ho Anh Quyet is a repeat offender with a criminal record for gambling. To avoid detection by law enforcement, during the gambling operation, he deployed multiple layers of lookouts. Upon the appearance of strangers, he would immediately raise the alarm to disperse the crowd and dispose of evidence.
