Exynos 2600 Chip: Samsung develops its own GPU for the Galaxy S26.
Samsung plans to equip the Exynos 2600 chip in the Galaxy S26 series with its own designed GPU, promising breakthroughs in graphics performance, AI capabilities, and optimized power consumption.
Samsung is taking a strategic step by deciding to design its own graphics processing unit (GPU) for the Exynos 2600 chip. This is an effort to reduce reliance on external partners and further optimize performance for the high-end Galaxy S26 series, expected to launch in 2026.
A breakthrough in graphics autonomy on the Exynos 2600.
For many years, Samsung has relied on third-party graphics technology, notably its collaboration with AMD to create the Xclipse GPU for its recent high-end chips. However, the arrival of the Exynos 2600 marks the South Korean company's shift toward its own GPU architecture.

Although the GPU version on the Exynos 2600 is said to still use AMD's underlying platform, this is a step towards Samsung's transition to a completely independent architecture. Controlling the mobile graphics segment brings tangible benefits to the end device:
- Elevate your gaming experience:The new architecture is optimized to deliver high graphics performance while maintaining low power consumption, ensuring stability during extended gaming sessions.
- Accelerating artificial intelligence:The new GPU will support faster on-device AI processing, reducing latency compared to relying on the cloud.
- Optimizing production costs:Designing its own components allows Samsung to save significant licensing fees from technology partners, thereby increasing profit margins or investing more in other components.
The 2nm process and roadmap to 2027
The Exynos 2600 is not only noteworthy for its GPU but is also expected to be the world's first chipset manufactured using the advanced 2nm process. This technology promises to significantly improve transistor density, delivering superior performance and energy efficiency, helping to close the gap with Qualcomm's Snapdragon competitors.

According to its long-term roadmap, Samsung aims to gain complete control over the mobile graphics market by 2027. If the plan goes as expected, the Exynos 2800 generation, featured in the Galaxy S28 series, could be the first chip to integrate a complete graphics processor designed by Samsung from start to finish, no longer relying on AMD's platform.
Users can expect a transformation of the Galaxy S26 series in early 2026 when "Made by Samsung" graphics technology is officially put into practice, promising a new race in the high-end mobile chip market.
