Tips for receiving 400,000 VND in social security benefits via VNeID

People with meritorious service and those eligible for social welfare policies can receive Tet gifts of 400,000 VND through the VNeID application. Linking bank accounts makes the money receiving process quick and transparent.

The government has just issued Resolution No. 418/NQ-CP dated December 28, 2025, on giving gifts during the Lunar New Year of the Horse 2026 to people who have rendered meritorious services to the revolution and vulnerable groups. Each eligible individual will receive a uniform gift of 400,000 VND.

List of recipients of Tet gifts

According to the resolution, the groups eligible for this policy include:

  • A person who rendered meritorious service to the revolution.
  • Social welfare beneficiaries as defined in Decree No. 20/2021/ND-CP (including orphans and children in foster care facilities).
  • Eligible individuals for social retirement as defined by the Social Insurance Law.
  • Other vulnerable groups will be considered and decided by local authorities.

To receive gifts electronically, people should follow these steps to link their bank accounts:

  1. Step 1:Access the VNeID application on your mobile phone.
  2. Step 2:Find and select the itemSocial securityon the main interface.
  3. Step 3:Click on the itemSocial Security benefit account.
  4. Step 4:Search for and select the bank you are currently using to link your account.

  1. Step 5:Provide and share bank account numbers and citizen identification card information as requested by the system.
  2. Step 6:Wait for the application to process and confirm the request.

Note: Individuals who have previously linked their personal account number to their Social Security account do not need to repeat these steps.

Regulations regarding the timing and method of payment

The government requires localities to complete the distribution of Tet gifts no later than December 31st. If people cannot receive the gifts via bank account, the commune-level People's Committee will organize the direct distribution of gifts in cash or transfer them to the account where they are receiving monthly allowances.

If an individual belongs to two or more eligible groups, they are only entitled to one gift. The entire implementation process must ensure timeliness, transparency, and compliance with legal regulations.
