Dak Lak: Two foreign tourists rescued after being trapped in a rock crevice at Tien Beach.
Authorities in Hoa Xuan commune (Dak Lak province) have successfully rescued two tourists, one German and one Danish, who were swept away by large waves and trapped in a rocky crevice in the sea.
At noon on January 19th, Lieutenant Colonel Nguyen Huu Tan – Head of Hoa Xuan Commune Police (Dak Lak) – announced that his unit had successfully rescued two foreign tourists who were trapped in a rocky area at Tien Beach, in coordination with other functional forces. The incident occurred while the group of tourists were visiting and swimming at the beach.

At approximately 7:40 AM on January 19th, the Hoa Xuan Commune Police received an urgent report about foreign tourists in distress at Tien Beach, located in Phuoc Tan village. According to initial information, the tour group consisted of four members with American, German, and Danish nationalities, along with a tour guide, who had come to the area for sightseeing and swimming.
While swimming in the sea, two tourists, NT (German national) and VD (Danish national), were unexpectedly swept away by large waves and forcefully carried into a rocky area near the shore. Due to the treacherous terrain, the victims were trapped, facing serious safety risks from the continuous pressure of the waves.

Immediately after receiving the information, the Hoa Xuan Commune Police quickly arrived to verify and access the scene. Recognizing the dangerous nature of the incident, the unit promptly coordinated with the Fire Prevention and Rescue Police Department (Dak Lak Provincial Police), local security forces, and border guards to implement a rescue plan.
Despite rough seas and the complex, rocky terrain, rescue workers deployed specialized techniques to reach the victims. After relentless efforts, authorities successfully brought both tourists to safety.
After being rescued, the victims were reassured and quickly transferred to the Medical Center for examination and health monitoring. Currently, the health of the two tourists is stable.
