Lotus Village Festival 2026: A pilot program for night tourism, "Lighting up Lotus Village," will be implemented.

Under the chairmanship of Comrade Thai Van Thanh - Member of the Provincial Party Committee, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee, this afternoon (February 2nd), the Provincial People's Committee held a meeting to discuss the plan for organizing the 2026 Lotus Village Festival, celebrating the 136th anniversary of President Ho Chi Minh's birth, announcing the Decision on National Tourist Area status, and commemorating the 70th anniversary of the establishment of the Kim Lien Historical Site in conjunction with tourism development.

According to the plan, the 2026 Lotus Village Festival, celebrating the 136th anniversary of President Ho Chi Minh's birth, will be organized on a provincial scale, chaired by the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism. Several departments, agencies, and the People's Committees of Kim Lien, Van An, Nam Dan, Dai Hue, and Thien Nhan communes will cooperate in its implementation.

The main activities of the ceremony include: Laying flowers at the Ho Chi Minh Monument in Ho Chi Minh Square and a parade to Lang Sen Village; laying flowers and offering incense at the Ho Chi Minh Memorial House and Chung Son Temple, and Mau Temple; and carrying a portrait of Ho Chi Minh from the memorial house in the Kim Lien Historical Site to the Lang Sen Village stadium.

The Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism has also planned to organize several activities such as: an exhibition "80 years since President Ho Chi Minh issued the call for national resistance"; a thematic exhibition commemorating the 115th anniversary of President Ho Chi Minh's departure to seek a path to national salvation; and the announcement of the decision recognizing the Kim Lien National Historical Site. Specifically, in 2026, the Organizing Committee will pilot the "Lighting Up Lotus Village" tourism program with activities including night tours in Lotus Village to welcome visitors; parades and performances of traditional Vietnamese lotus ao dai; organizing a "Rural Market" space combined with experiential activities; implementing landscape design and artistic night lighting systems…

Speaking at the meeting, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Thai Van Thanh emphasized: The 2026 Lang Sen Festival, coinciding with the celebration of the 136th anniversary of President Ho Chi Minh's birth, is a meaningful activity expressing the gratitude and respect of the people for President Ho Chi Minh; promoting the cultural values ​​of Lang Sen village. At the same time, it aims to propagate and educate on Ho Chi Minh's ideology, contributing to promoting the image of Nghe An province, its land, and its people, in conjunction with tourism development. Therefore, the activities of the Lang Sen Festival must be deeply rooted in national cultural identity, creating a profound and sacred impression of President Ho Chi Minh and his hometown of Lang Sen.

Based on feedback from departments, agencies, and relevant organizations, the Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee requested the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism to review the implementation plan; and to streamline some contents and activities in the festival section. The funding for implementation will come from the state budget combined with social contributions.
