In harmony with the nation's development as it enters a new spring, the cadres, Party members, and people of Dai Dong commune are once again energized in labor and production. The convergence of strength, unity, and unwavering faith is creating new momentum for the development of this historically rich land along the Lam River.
The name Dai Dong is not a random designation today, but the culmination of a long historical process. From the time the ancient Vietnamese people gathered along the river, reclaiming land, and establishing villages, this area has formed a shared living space, livelihood, and culture. Despite numerous adjustments to administrative boundaries, divisions, and mergers, with each unit bearing different names, in the community's memory, "Dai Dong" remains the common name for a familiar land – a place where people are bound together by historical ties and similarities in lifestyle and customs.
The merger of Dong Van, Dai Dong, Thanh Phong, Thanh Ngoc communes and Dung town today is therefore not only a reorganization of administrative units according to development requirements, but also embodies the sentiment and aspiration for progress stemming from tradition. The new Dai Dong signifies the convergence of space, people, and tradition; opening a new path of development. Mr. Nguyen Van Nga - Secretary of the Party Branch of Hamlet 1A shared: “Now our homeland is vast, everywhere we go feels familiar yet new. What is important is that officials dare to think, dare to act, and know how to adapt to the new operating methods of the two-tiered government to move forward together with the people.”
In Dai Dong commune, officials are working closely with the people, listening to their concerns to address urgent issues: overcoming the consequences of major storms in 2025; resolving shortcomings in transportation, irrigation, schools, and health stations; and expediting administrative procedures, especially the issuance of land use right certificates.
Local authorities proactively guide and support the application of information technology and digital transformation for non-professional community workers, creating an "extended arm" in governance and serving the people. As a result, socio-economic targets for 2025 are basically met and exceeded. Notably, the economic growth rate is estimated at 10.67%; total production value exceeds 4,229 billion VND; and average per capita income reaches 77.7 million VND/year. Industry, construction, and trade and services continue to play a driving role, accounting for over 80% of the economic structure. The quality of education, especially in key areas, continues to be affirmed with the number of outstanding 9th-grade students ranking among the top in the province.
Comrade Tran Thanh Nga - Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee and Chairman of the People's Committee of Dai Dong commune - affirmed: These results are vivid evidence of the continuity in leadership and guidance between the old administrative units and the effective operation of the new commune apparatus. The Party Committee, the government, and 4 out of 6 Front organizations were all assessed by the province as having excellently completed their tasks. This synchronicity is the result of the efforts and overcoming difficulties of each official and civil servant under the condition of having to concurrently handle many fields, and affirms the unity and harmonious coordination of the entire political system. This is an important foundation for Dai Dong commune to continue to consolidate the people's trust and move steadily forward in the new development phase.
Comrade Trinh Van Nha - Member of the Provincial Party Committee, Secretary of the Party Committee, and Chairman of the People's Council of Dai Dong commune - shared: The requirements for Dai Dong commune today are not only to effectively exploit existing potentials and advantages, but more importantly, to proactively create new development opportunities, ensuring harmony between immediate goals and long-term strategies. Based on this understanding, the locality is focusing on reviewing and adjusting the overall planning and planning for each sector and field according to a long-term vision, in line with the expanded development space.
A key focus in Dai Dong's planning orientation is the development of transportation infrastructure, creating favorable conditions for the development of industry, handicrafts, services, trade, and traditional craft villages. Simultaneously, the plan aims to develop concentrated residential areas with modern, integrated infrastructure, creating focal points; while also paying attention to upgrading existing residential areas, preserving traditional cultural spaces, maintaining the essence of the countryside, and creating a lasting identity and vitality for the Dai Dong region.

In the agricultural sector, Dai Dong commune focuses on restructuring production towards commercialization, increasing economic value and efficiency. The riverside alluvial plains along the Lam River are being converted to cultivate crops suitable for market demand, developing specialized flower cultivation; and expanding high-tech models for raising porcupines, civets, egg-laying chickens, and ducks…
Along with the economy, Dai Dong commune continues to identify culture as an important internal force for sustainable development, with education and healthcare being given top priority; paying attention to promoting the values of historical relics in the area, creating a cultural and spiritual foundation for the people and a great influence in the new development space of Dai Dong commune.
To realize the planning goals and development aspirations, Comrade Trinh Van Nha emphasized the crucial role of reviving and promoting the tradition of unity, will, and the aspiration for innovation and creativity of the entire political system and the people. Therefore, the theme for 2026 was clearly defined by the commune: "Discipline comes first, resources go hand in hand, using efficiency as the measure of the political system's performance," with a focus on being close to the people, understanding their thoughts and aspirations; being proactive and flexible in mechanisms and policies, especially in land management and economic development; and resolutely "self-renewal and self-rectification" to adapt to new operational requirements.
"With a deep historical foundation, an efficient operational system, and a renewed development mindset, Dai Dong commune is confidently embarking on a new path of development. The confidence forged from practical experience is the driving force for this land along the Lam River to break through, develop rapidly and sustainably in the future," emphasized Comrade Trinh Van Nha.
