Industry and Trade Sector: The driving force for growth in 2026
The new year 2026 opens with high expectations for Nghe An's economic growth. The Provincial People's Committee has issued a GRDP growth scenario for 2026, setting a target of 10.5 to 11.5%, with industry and construction identified as the main driving force. The industrial sector alone is expected to grow by 16.5 to 17.93%, requiring strong determination and decisive action from the very beginning of the new year.

Launch pill: TMr. Pham Van Hoa, as we enter the new year 2026, the Provincial People's Committee has set a very high industrial growth target. Could you share the major directions and determination of the Nghe An Department of Industry and Trade in this new year?
GrandfatherPham Van Hoa:In 2026, the Ministry of Industry and Trade has set out four main directions:
Regarding the industry/field:Continue implementing Resolution 07 of the Provincial Party Committee on development orientation from now until 2030. This includes focusing on high-tech processing and manufacturing industries, and high value-added energy industries to promote growth.

Focus on attracting foreign investment:In particular, large-scale projects are needed to drive the province's industrial development. For the industry and trade sector, the focus is on the Quỳnh Lập 1500 MW LNG project with a total investment of over 2 billion USD.
Regarding spatial orientation:Focus on developing industrial parks and clusters. Currently, the VSIP 3 and VSIP 4 industrial parks are being expanded; focus is being placed on accelerating the completion of administrative reforms and supporting businesses and investors.

Regarding growth drivers:In line with Politburo Resolutions 57 and 68 on digital transformation, green transformation, and private sector development, these are the main driving forces for development.

Launch pill: With industrial growth expected to range from 16.5% to nearly 18%, what key tasks and solutions will the Ministry of Industry and Trade focus on to create momentum for growth right from the beginning of the year, sir?
Mr. Pham Van Hoa:To achieve the industrial growth target in 2026, the Ministry of Industry and Trade has set out five key groups of solutions.

Adjusting development plans and strategies:Focus on supplementing the planning of industrial zones, adjusting the planning of industrial clusters, implementing Power Plan 8, and the provincial power plan.
Expedite the progress of key infrastructure projects:Focus on key projects, especially the Quynh Lap LNG project.

Digital transformation, green transformation, and private sector development: Coordinate to effectively implement action programs to carry out Resolution 57 and Resolution 68 on digital transformation, green transformation, and private sector development.
Market development:Effectively manage market information and make good use of free trade agreements to further develop export markets.

Partnering with and supporting businesses:Continue to improve the investment and business environment with the five "ready" principles in line with the province's policy. Continue to promote administrative reform and work alongside businesses to overcome difficulties.

Launch pill: In the early days of Spring, what specific tasks will the Ministry of Industry and Trade prioritize to realize the growth scenario that has been set out?
GrandfatherPham Van Hoa:For the Industry and Trade sector, right from the first day and month, the first priority is to focus on concretizing plans, programs, and projects, especially action programs implementing the resolutions of the Party Congress at all levels. Through this, the political determination and directives of the Central Government and the province regarding bringing Nghe An into a new phase of development will be promptly conveyed to the entire business community.




The Department of Industry and Trade has also issued Decision No. 57 outlining 11 key breakthrough tasks for 2026. The second task is to closely monitor the production and business situation of enterprises, accompanying them and promptly resolving difficulties from the very first day and month, especially in the export sector. Currently, the Department's origin certification unit is working throughout the Tet holiday, including the 29th and 1st day of Tet, to be ready to support export orders to foreign markets.
