Mỹ lần đầu sử dụng tên lửa đạn đạo PrSM trong chiến dịch tấn công Iran
Trong khuôn khổ Chiến dịch Epic Fury, quân đội Mỹ đã triển khai tên lửa đạn đạo chiến thuật PrSM thế hệ mới với độ chính xác cao để thay thế dòng ATACMS truyền thống.
Trong Chiến dịch Epic Fury, Hoa Kỳ lần đầu tiên đưa vào sử dụng tên lửa đạn đạo chiến thuật có độ chính xác cao PrSM (Precision Strike Missile). Đây là loại vũ khí sử dụng nhiên liệu rắn do Tập đoàn Lockheed Martin phát triển nhằm thay thế dòng MGM-140 ATACMS trong các nhiệm vụ tấn công mục tiêu chiến lược.
Khả năng tác chiến và thông số kỹ thuật của PrSM
The U.S. Central Command (USCENTCOM) released this information along with footage documenting attacks on multiple targets in Iran during the first 24 hours of the operation. The PrSM is considered a significant advancement over its predecessors in both range and ability to penetrate defense systems.
Technically, the PrSM missile is capable of destroying targets at a maximum range of up to 500km. Although it has a 91kg warhead, smaller than the ATACMS (which has a range of approximately 300km), the PrSM achieves superior accuracy thanks to its advanced guidance system.
Production plan and replacement of aging weapons stockpile
Lockheed Martin began mass production of this missile in July 2025. According to the Pentagon's roadmap, the PrSM will gradually replace the outdated ATACMS missiles, which are being delivered to the Ukrainian Armed Forces in recent military aid packages.
The U.S. Army has signed two major supply contracts to modernize its artillery and missile capabilities:
- First contract:Deliver 282 PrSM Increment One missiles (the version without the multi-mode seeker) by the end of 2025.
- Second contract:An additional 1,296 missiles of the same type are expected to be delivered by the end of 2029.
Platform deployment and practical effectiveness
Currently, this high-precision guided munition is integrated for launch from the M142 HIMARS high-mobility artillery rocket system. The US military confirms the appearance of the PrSM on the Iranian battlefield as a successful debut of its defense industry.
Despite claims of effectiveness, details regarding the specific deployment locations of the HIMARS launchers, as well as the detailed list of targets (infrastructure or military forces), remain classified. The actual effectiveness of this weapon is still being assessed based on operational data from the field.
Forecasts indicate that the Pentagon may continue to deploy new generation weapons into the battle in the coming days. Notably, some leaked images show the appearance of the Tomahawk Block V cruise missile variant – a powerful, upgraded version that has never been officially revealed before.
