The Xiaomi 17T series is expected to launch in late April or May, significantly earlier than the traditional release cycle for this product line. The new generation promises groundbreaking upgrades in battery capacity and processing performance from MediaTek.

Launch roadmap and expected versions

According to leaker Abhishek Yadav, Xiaomi is accelerating the launch of the 17T series in global markets. The clearest indication is the device's appearance in the IMEI database, suggesting that final testing is being completed in preparation for its release.

Upgrading the camera system in collaboration with Leica.

Building on the success of previous generations, the Xiaomi 17T and 17T Pro will maintain a strategic partnership with the Leica camera brand. Specifically, the duo is expected to feature a triple rear camera setup including a 50MP main sensor, a 12MP ultra-wide-angle lens, and a 50MP auxiliary lens.

Notably, the Pro version is said to feature a periscope camera for better long-distance zoom capabilities. On the front, both devices integrate a 32MP selfie camera, well-suited for portrait photography and online meetings.

Hardware configuration analysis: Power from Dimensity and a massive battery.

In terms of performance, the Xiaomi 17T (model code 2602DPT53G/I) is likely to use the Dimensity 8500 processor, coupled with a 6,500mAh battery supporting 67W fast charging. Meanwhile, the Xiaomi 17T Pro (model code 2602EPTC0G) is positioned as a near-premium flagship model with the most powerful Dimensity 9500 chip from MediaTek.

Notably, the Xiaomi 17T Pro is believed to be based on the Redmi K90 Ultra model in the Chinese market. Therefore, the device may feature a 6.8-inch OLED display with 1.5K resolution and a 165Hz refresh rate. Most impressively, it boasts a massive 8,500mAh battery supporting 100W fast charging, a metal frame, and an integrated cooling fan system.
