Episode 9 of Countdown revolves around the ordeal faced by Teacher Thang when his son squanders 700 million dong of family money, forcing him to devise a plan to fake a terminal illness to cope.
In episode 9 of the series Countdown Clock, the character Thanh begins his second mission assigned by Death. This time, his target is Mr. Thang (played by People's Artist Trung Anh), a middle school teacher who is going through tragic events caused by his own family members.

Mr. Thang is currently facing an extremely difficult situation as his son, Tung, has become deeply involved in gambling. Tung not only squandered his personal assets but also misappropriated over 700 million VND contributed by the family for the construction of the ancestral temple. This action has put Mr. Thang in a desperate position, forcing him to temporarily relocate to the family temple.
Notably, the situation escalated when Tung and a cousin staged a scene to get Mr. Thang drunk in order to break into his house and steal his belongings. The continuous difficulties caused by his vengeful son left Mr. Thang exhausted both physically and mentally.

To find a way out, or perhaps a way to awaken his son, Mr. Thang asked Son – a former student now working as a doctor – to forge a terminal cancer diagnosis. The true purpose of this fake diagnosis remains a mystery, but it reveals the utter helplessness of the elderly father in the face of his son's unruly behavior.
Furthermore, pressure from relatives increased daily as the plan to build the family church was inexplicably delayed. Teacher Thang was constantly questioned about the 700 million dong, while family members began to suspect that Tung had squandered the money on gambling.
Viewers are waiting to see if Thanh can intervene and rescue his teacher from the troubles surrounding him. Episode 9 of the drama "Countdown Clock" is scheduled to air at 8:00 PM tonight (March 5th) on VTV3.
