Motorbike taxi driver arrested for causing disturbance in front of airport gate.
On the evening of March 9th, the Ho Chi Minh City Police Investigation Agency executed an emergency arrest warrant against Bui Quang Hieu (born in 1991, currently residing in Bay Hien Ward) to investigate his alleged "disruption of public order".
Previously, the Bay Hien Ward Police in Ho Chi Minh City received information about a ride-hailing motorbike driver who had vandalized luggage and caused public disorder in front of the T3 terminal gate at Tan Son Nhat International Airport.
The Bay Hien Ward Police promptly reviewed and verified the information, invited the victim to cooperate in the investigation; and simultaneously tracked down and brought Bui Quang Hieu to the station for questioning.
Initially, the police determined that at approximately 0:15 AM on March 8th, Ms. D.T.T. (born in 1987), after disembarking from a flight from Hanoi to Ho Chi Minh City, went to Gate 2 of Terminal 3 to look for a ride home. There, after inquiring about the price, Ms. T. noticed that Hieu appeared to have been drinking alcohol, so she did not continue to hire the taxi and moved to a nearby area to wait for another ride.
Alleging that Ms. T. "called for a ride but didn't take it," Hieu loudly cursed and proceeded to drag Ms. T.'s luggage into the middle of the road and smash it. The incident only stopped when several ride-hailing motorbike drivers and nearby residents rushed to intervene.
The police determined that Hieu's actions caused public disorder in a crowded area, negatively impacting security and order at the entrance to Tan Son Nhat International Airport, and causing public outrage, so they temporarily detained him for processing.
