Catholics in Nghe An enthusiastically participate in the nation's election day.
On the morning of March 15th, along with voters nationwide, Catholic compatriots in Nghe An province enthusiastically went to polling stations to exercise their rights and civic duties, participating in the election of representatives to the 16th National Assembly and representatives to the People's Councils at all levels for the 2026-2031 term.
In Nhan Hoa parish, Trung Loc commune, from early morning, many voters were present at polling stations dressed neatly, enthusiastically exercising their civic rights. Along the roads leading to the polling areas, national flags, banners, and propaganda slogans were prominently displayed, creating a vibrant and joyful atmosphere for the election day. Groups of voters chatted and discussed the list of candidates before entering the polling rooms, demonstrating their concern and responsibility in choosing worthy representatives.

Voter Nguyen Thi Luong, 80 years old, one of the local elderly voters, arrived early at the polling station to exercise her civic right. Ms. Luong said that each election is a special occasion for citizens to demonstrate their responsibility to the country.

“As Catholics, we always strive to live virtuous lives, honoring God and loving our country. Therefore, participating in elections is not only a right but also a responsibility of every citizen. My family went to vote early to choose representatives who are capable and dedicated to serving the people,” Ms. Luong shared.

Mr. Tran Minh Sam – Secretary of the Party Branch, Head of the Fatherland Front Committee of Bac Nhan Hoa hamlet, and also the Head of Polling Station No. 10, Trung Loc commune, said: this polling area has 929 voters, 100% of whom are Catholics belonging to Nhan Hoa parish. Thanks to good propaganda and mobilization work, voters came to vote in large numbers from early morning, ensuring compliance with regulations and order.
Mr. Sam stated that he has served as the Party Branch Secretary in the locality for 24 years and has always observed that the villagers actively participate in village activities, especially in important political events of the country.

Mr. Tran Nguyen Hoa, Chairman of the People's Committee of Trung Loc commune, said: "We always propagate, mobilize, and encourage people to fully participate in local movements and activities, especially important political events such as election day. This year, voters arrived at the polling stations very early, everyone was enthusiastic and seriously exercised their civic rights."

A bustling atmosphere of election activity also prevailed in Vinh Phu ward, where a large Catholic population resides. At the Vinh Phu Block 10 Cultural Center, a large number of voters arrived early in the morning to complete the procedures for receiving their ballots.
Mr. Nguyen Xuan Huong, Head of Block 10, Vinh Phu Ward, said: The block has 277 households with 870 voters, of which about 80% are Catholics belonging to Dong Kien parish, Yen Dai church. From early morning, a large number of people in the block were present at the polling station to exercise their civic rights in the solemn and joyful atmosphere of election day.

"People are very happy to be able to directly choose the representatives who will represent their will and aspirations. Participating in the election is a very meaningful act and demonstrates the responsibility of each citizen," Mr. Huong shared.
According to Mr. Nguyen The Than, Chairman of the Vinh Phu Ward People's Committee, the ward currently has approximately 7,000 Catholic residents with nearly 5,000 voters, mainly residing in blocks 1 to 10 (formerly Nghi Phu Ward). On election day, voters participated in large numbers, demonstrating a high sense of responsibility and consensus. This is a positive sign contributing to the overall success of the election.
Not only in Trung Loc commune or Vinh Phu ward, but also in many other localities in Nghe An province, Catholic people enthusiastically participated in the country's election day. At the polling stations, the image of voters in neat attire, happily exchanging greetings before casting their votes, created an atmosphere of democracy and unity.

According to statistics, Nghe An province currently has over 307,000 Catholics, accounting for approximately 9% of the province's total population, who worship in 123 parishes, 15 deaneries, and 3 religious orders under the pastoral guidance of the Vinh Diocese Bishopric.
Over the years, Catholic people in Nghe An have always actively participated in patriotic emulation movements, especially the movement "All people unite to build new rural areas and civilized urban areas".
Over the past five years, Catholic communities throughout the province have donated nearly 193,000 square meters of land, dismantled tens of thousands of meters of fences, and contributed over 286,000 man-days of labor, equivalent to a value of over 57 billion VND, to build rural infrastructure. In addition, they have contributed hundreds of billions of VND in cash and other material resources to social activities.
These practical contributions demonstrate the solidarity and commitment of Catholic compatriots to the overall development of the locality. On this election day, the spirit of "respecting God and loving the country" continues to be shown through each voter's active participation in casting their ballots, choosing worthy representatives to represent the will and aspirations of the people.
