PVF-CAND replaces all foreign players and the head coach in an attempt to avoid relegation in the V-League.
At the bottom of the table, PVF-CAND undertook a radical overhaul, replacing their foreign players and appointing coach Tran Tien Dai with the goal of fiercely avoiding relegation.
PVF-CAND is taking drastic measures to salvage the 2025/2026 V-League season. With the team languishing at the bottom of the table, a large-scale squad overhaul was initiated immediately after the mid-season transfer window closed, targeting key positions from foreign players to the coaching staff.
A radical overhaul of the foreign player roster.
The centerpiece of the restructuring process is PVF-CAND officially saying goodbye to the trio of foreign players who had been with the team since the beginning of the season: Amarildo, Marco Antonio, and Alain Eyenga. Although they had made certain contributions, their actual effectiveness on the field was not enough to help the team escape its crisis.
To fill the void, the Police team quickly registered a list of 4 new foreign players with notable names:
- Lucas Henrique Turci:The center-back promises to strengthen the defense.
- Reynolds Alastair David:Midfielders control the flow of the game.
- Eid Mahmoud:Midfielders enhance creativity.
- Mpande Joseph Mbolimbo:The striker has proven his abilities in the V-League.
Among them, Joseph Mpande is expected to be the solution to the goal-scoring problem, while the trio of Turci, David, and Mahmoud carry the hope of creating a new, more modern dynamism for the team's playing style.
Changes on the coaching bench: A gamble with Mr. Tran Tien Dai
Besides the personnel changes on the field, the "head coach" position of PVF-CAND has also seen a pivotal change. Coach Nguyen Thanh Cong has officially stepped down, handing over the reins to Mr. Tran Tien Dai.
This is seen as a tactical choice by the team's management. Mr. Tran Tien Dai is not an unfamiliar name to Vietnamese football fans. With his extensive experience and deep understanding of the V-League environment, he is trusted to be a capable figure who can lift the players' spirits and lead the team through its current crisis.
Pressure from the relegation battle.
Currently, PVF-CAND is at the bottom of the standings with only 11 points. However, hope of turning the tide remains as the gap with the teams above them is very narrow: 1 point behind Da Nang and 2 points behind Thanh Hoa.
These drastic adjustments demonstrate the team's determination not to give up. However, the pressure of avoiding relegation will be the ultimate challenge for new head coach Tran Tien Dai and his players in the upcoming intense phase of the season.
