Building a sustainable and happy healthcare system.
On March 23, 1946, the first session of the Nghe An Provincial People's Council resolved to establish the Nghe An Health Committee, the predecessor of the provincial health sector.
Over 80 years of construction and development, from an initial staff of over 50, the province's public health system now has nearly 16,000 personnel, with a synchronized network from the provincial level to the grassroots level.

Facilities and equipment have been increasingly modernized; professional capabilities are constantly improving, and many advanced techniques such as organ transplantation, open-heart surgery, cardiovascular intervention, and assisted reproduction have been effectively implemented.
In addition, preventive healthcare is emphasized, with proactive monitoring, early detection, and control of diseases to prevent major outbreaks.

Digital transformation has become a highlight as 100% of medical facilities implement electronic medical records, gradually forming a smart healthcare model aimed at improving the efficiency of management, prevention, and treatment.
The sector has also promoted social mobilization, raising hundreds of billions of dong to invest in upgrading infrastructure, especially in remote and disadvantaged areas, contributing to narrowing the gap in access to healthcare services between regions.

Speaking at the ceremony, Dr. Le Thi Hoai Chung, a member of the Provincial Party Committee and Director of the Nghe An Department of Health, affirmed that the 80th anniversary is not only an occasion to express gratitude to generations of officials and doctors, but also a time to determine the direction of development in the new phase.
The healthcare sector aims to "create a sustainable and happy healthcare system," centered on people, operating on a professional foundation, leveraging collective intelligence, spreading a spirit of responsibility, dedication, and compassion, and meeting the expectations of the people.

At the ceremony, leaders from the Ministry of Health, the province, and the Department of Health officially launched the Nghe An Digital Health Information Portal. This is considered a significant milestone in the digital transformation process of the health sector, contributing to a modern and efficient healthcare system for the health and happiness of the people, and concretizing Resolution No. 57 of the Politburo on breakthroughs in the development of science, technology, innovation, and national digital transformation.
PutResolution No. 72 of the Politburo is at the heart of development thinking.
Speaking at the program, Deputy Minister of Health Tran Van Thuan and Vice Chairman of the People's Committee of Nghe An province Thai Van Thanh acknowledged the achievements of the Nghe An health sector in the past period; and at the same time, outlined some key tasks to further improve the quality of healthcare for the people in the coming period.

On behalf of the provincial leadership, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Thai Van Thanh requested the Health sector to continue to effectively implement the Party and State's guidelines and policies on protecting, caring for, and improving the health of the people; review the development strategy and advise on specific mechanisms to effectively implement Resolution No. 72 dated September 9, 2025, of the Politburo; and shift strongly from a "cure" mindset to a "proactive prevention" mindset.

In addition, the sector needs to continue strengthening and developing the healthcare system in a synchronized and modern direction; improving the quality of medical examination and treatment; developing specialized healthcare while ensuring interconnectedness and equity in access to services; and paying more attention to preventive medicine and primary healthcare, especially in remote and disadvantaged areas.
Building a team of highly qualified, strong-willed, and ethically sound medical professionals is also identified as a key task, linked to President Ho Chi Minh's teaching that "a good doctor must be like a loving mother."
In particular, digital transformation continues to be identified as a crucial, ongoing, and urgent task; resources need to be mobilized and allocated appropriately to create breakthroughs in the industry's development.

Sharing this view, Deputy Minister of Health Tran Van Thuan emphasized that the Nghe An health sector must place the implementation of Resolution No. 72 of the Politburo at the center of its development thinking; identify grassroots healthcare as the foundation of the entire system; consider healthcare personnel as the decisive factor in all reforms; and promote digital transformation in a synchronized and substantive manner, using the effectiveness of serving the people as the measure.
At the same time, the sector needs to strengthen its financial management, investment, and autonomy capabilities in a way that is efficient, open, and transparent; focusing on building a foundation of medical ethics, professional culture, and a spirit of service.

Within the framework of the program, a thematic workshop titled "Nghe An Healthcare: Building a Sustainable and Happy Healthcare System from Leadership Culture and Intellectual Synergy on a Foundation of Medical Ethics" was also organized, focusing on sharing experiences and spreading values in governance, leadership culture, and building a professional and humane working environment.

On this occasion, the Provincial Party Committee, the Provincial People's Council, the Provincial People's Committee, and the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Nghe An province presented a banner to acknowledge and honor the outstanding achievements of the province's health sector over the past 80 years.

Also at the ceremony, 6 individuals were awarded the Third-Class Labor Medal, 2 individuals were awarded the title of National Emulation Fighter, and 1 collective and 7 individuals received Certificates of Merit from the Prime Minister; thereby further encouraging and spreading the spirit of emulation.
