The Provincial Steering Committee on preventing and combating corruption, waste, and negative practices held its 16th meeting.
On the morning of April 2nd, Comrade Nguyen Khac Than - Member of the Central Committee of the Party, Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, and Head of the Provincial Steering Committee - chaired the 16th meeting of the Provincial Steering Committee on preventing and combating corruption, waste, and negative phenomena.

The meeting aimed to evaluate the results of tasks performed in the first quarter of 2026, determine the direction and key tasks for the second quarter of 2026, and provide feedback on several matters within its authority.
In the first quarter of 2026, under the direct leadership and guidance of the Provincial Party Standing Committee, the Provincial Steering Committee focused on decisively directing the work of preventing and combating corruption, waste, and negative phenomena; thoroughly understanding and seriously implementing the conclusions and directives of the General Secretary and Head of the Central Steering Committee, ensuring that they closely followed the practical situation of the province.

The Steering Committee for the Prevention and Combat of Corruption, Waste, and Negative Phenomena in Nghe An Province has promptly issued its 2026 work program for implementation. The issuance and implementation of the annual work program by the Steering Committee was timely, systematic, and closely followed the directives of the Central Government and local realities. The content is focused, with clear assignment of tasks, coupled with strengthened supervision and inspection, contributing to improved effectiveness in the prevention and combat of corruption, waste, and negative phenomena.
In addition, the Provincial Steering Committee continues to lead and direct the prosecuting agencies to focus on investigating, prosecuting, and strictly adjudicating cases of corruption, waste, and negative practices that are of public concern; while also emphasizing the improvement of the effectiveness of recovering lost or misappropriated assets.

For the second quarter of 2026, the Provincial Steering Committee on Anti-Corruption, Waste, and Negative Phenomena has determined to continue closely adhering to the program and working regulations; focusing on directing Party committees, Party organizations, agencies, and units at all levels to strictly implement the resolutions, directives, conclusions, and regulations of the Central Committee, the Politburo, the Secretariat, and the Central Steering Committee on anti-corruption, waste, and negative phenomena.
This includes focusing on implementing a comprehensive set of solutions to control power in personnel management; preventing corruption, waste, and negative practices in areas prone to violations.

Enhance the operational efficiency of the commune-level Inspection Committee; promptly detect, strictly and publicly handle acts of harassment and corruption in resolving issues for citizens and businesses.
The Provincial Steering Committee requested continued efforts to promote propaganda and education, build a culture of integrity, and enhance the role and responsibility of setting a good example for officials and Party members, especially those in leadership positions.

At the same time, strengthen the supervisory and social critique role of the Provincial Fatherland Front, political and social organizations, press agencies, and the people in the work of preventing and combating corruption, waste, and negative phenomena.
