Nghe An province approves a project to restore and renovate the Song Ngu Pagoda historical site with a total capital of over 31 billion VND.
On April 3, 2026, the People's Committee of Nghe An province issued a decision approving the project to restore and renovate the Song Ngu Pagoda historical site in Cua Lo ward. The project has a total investment of over 31 billion VND, implemented entirely from socialized capital.

On April 3rd, the People's Committee of Nghe An province issued Decision No. 1284/QD-UBND approving the project: Restoration and renovation of Song Ngu Pagoda historical site in Cua Lo ward. The project belongs to group C, a level III civil engineering project, with the People's Committee of Cua Lo ward as the investor.
According to the decision, the total investment for the project is 31,318,400,000 VND.
The entire funding for the project was raised through social mobilization, specifically through the Vingroup Charitable Foundation.
The project implementation period is set at 3 years, starting from the date the construction is eligible to commence.
The project aims to renovate, restore, and construct new structures according to the detailed construction plan at a scale of 1/500 approved in Decision No. 861/QD-UBND dated April 8, 2024. The overall plan for the historical site focuses on preserving the original location of the main structure, the Tam Bao building, while also conserving valuable heritage items such as the ancient well, stone steles, two ancient banyan trees, and an ancient Bodhi tree.
Specifically, for the restoration and renovation works, the project will carry out the restoration of the four-pillar gate, the ceremonial house, and especially the core structure - the Three Treasures Hall with an area of 177m².2
Regarding the new construction projects, the project will invest in building an outer gate, a Mother Goddess temple, a shrine dedicated to the Judge and Grand King Hoang Ta Thon, and a 190m² reception building.2and gold ingot
To enhance the landscape of the historical site, the grounds will be supplemented with a row of 18 Arhat statues made of white stone, along with resting pavilions and a system of greenery and well-maintained internal roads.
Regarding the Three Treasures Hall, which currently has cracked foundations and walls, and is leaning due to the impact of natural disasters and typhoons No. 5 and No. 10, the project will dismantle the entire structure to carry out restoration.
To ensure the project's smooth implementation, the People's Committee of Nghe An province has assigned the Departments of Culture, Sports and Tourism, Finance, and Construction to coordinate and guide the People's Committee of Cua Lo ward in carrying out the next procedural steps in accordance with current regulations.
The investor, the People's Committee of Cua Lo Ward, is responsible for closely monitoring the approved contents and ensuring strict compliance with current legal regulations.
