Ninh Binh tightens slaughterhouse management to protect consumer health.

Amidst the ongoing outbreak of African swine fever in 14 communes and wards of Ninh Binh province, the local authorities have issued Official Dispatch No. 02/CĐ-UBND to rectify quarantine and slaughter control measures. Currently, Ninh Binh province has over 3,700 small-scale slaughterhouses interspersed within residential areas, posing difficulties for veterinary hygiene management.

The Chairman of the Ninh Binh Provincial People's Committee requested relevant agencies to strengthen inspections and strictly handle cases of transporting animals of unknown origin. The long-term solution identified by the locality is to develop a centralized slaughtering system to replace small-scale facilities to ensure food safety and prevent the spread of disease.
