VinFast VF 6 owner: “The decision to switch to an electric vehicle was a wise move.”

Three years of charging costs at "zero"

After about two years of using the VinFast VF 6, Mr. Nguyen Quoc Nhat (Hanoi) is even more convinced that his decision to switch to an electric vehicle was absolutely right, especially given the unpredictable fluctuations in fuel prices.

"Looking at the current price of gasoline, I'm glad I switched to an electric car early. If I were still using a gasoline car, commuting certainly wouldn't be as comfortable as it is now.", Mr. Nhat shared.

Previously, Mr. Nhat owned a Mazda CX-3. He spent an average of 2-3 million VND on fuel each month. However, since switching to the VF 6, fuel costs have dropped to almost zero thanks to the free charging policy, significantly optimizing his family's finances.

Currently, VinFast electric vehicle buyers from February 10, 2026, onwards are entitled to free charging at V-Green public charging stations until February 10, 2029 (maximum 10 times per month for individual customers, unlimited for those who purchase vehicles exclusively for operation on the Green SM Platform). For buyers who purchased vehicles before this date, like Mr. Nhat, the policy extends until 3 years have passed since the purchase date.

He also calculated that, even outside of promotional periods, the charging cost was "insignificant," only a small fraction of the cost of refueling.

"Previously, when I used a Mazda CX-3, I traveled an average of 1,500 km per month. For the same distance, the VF 6 consumed about 200 kWh of electricity, costing around 700,000 VND, which is only 1/3 to 1/4 of the cost of gasoline.”Mr. Nhat commented.

Maintenance is easy, owning a car is stress-free.

Sharing the same view, although he only switched to using an electric vehicle a little over a year ago, Mr. Nguyen Van Huy (Hanoi) has clearly recognized the cost advantages of the VF 6. According to him, not only does it save on fuel costs, but the VF 6 also helps users feel more comfortable financially thanks to its very low maintenance costs.

"Back when I was driving a gasoline car, every time it was time for the 5,000 km maintenance, I had to replace all sorts of parts. From air filters, oil filters, spark plugs, to tires and brake pads, depending on how often I drove, I had to spend tens of millions of dong each year.""That's what Huy said."

With few items requiring periodic replacement, after the first 6 maintenance services of the VF, Mr. Huy noted that the cost was "worlds apart compared to gasoline-powered cars."

"It only costs 500,000 VND for one maintenance service, and the process is also very quick, taking less than a day."Huy said.

Recently, VinFast has increased the maintenance cycle to 15,000 km/year, three times longer than gasoline cars (which typically require maintenance after 5,000 km). Thanks to this, he saves both money and time during use.

Notably, thanks to a series of preferential policies from VinFast in April 2026, the cost of owning a VF 6 is very competitive compared to other vehicles in the segment.

Specifically, the "Intense for a Green Future" program allows customers to purchase vehicles on installment plans with zero down payment, along with a fixed preferential interest rate of 7% per year for the first three years. Buyers can also choose a direct discount of 6% of the vehicle price instead of the preferential interest rate policy. In addition, VinFast is also offering a 3% discount for customers switching from internal combustion engine vehicles to electric vehicles until April 30, 2026.

With its accessible price, flexible financing options, and optimized operating and maintenance costs, the VF 6 is gaining strong appeal as one of the most economical and sustainable choices in its segment. In March 2026, the Vietnamese model also achieved impressive sales of 3,152 units, a 202% increase compared to the previous month, and ranked among the top 4 best-selling cars in the Vietnamese market.
