Retail pork prices at major distribution systems

According to a survey on winmart.vn, the price of chilled pork at Meat Deli remains unchanged. Products are sold here in the range of 110,320 - 204,900 VND/kg. Notably, WinMart members still receive a 20% discount.

Trends in the live pig market across the three regions of Vietnam.

The nationwide live pig market remained stable this morning, trading in the range of 63,000 - 69,000 VND/kg.

  • Northern region:Prices ranged from 63,000 to 66,000 VND/kg. Lai Chau recorded the lowest price in the region at 63,000 VND/kg. Meanwhile, Hung Yen continued to lead with 66,000 VND/kg. Localities such as Hanoi, Hai Phong, and Bac Ninh remained stable at 65,000 VND/kg.
  • Central and Central Highlands regions:Pork prices fluctuated between 63,000 and 69,000 VND/kg. The lowest price of 63,000 VND/kg was recorded in Ha Tinh. Lam Dong remained the locality with the highest price in the region, reaching 69,000 VND/kg.
  • Southern region:The price trend remained stable at 67,000 - 69,000 VND/kg. Dong Nai, Ho Chi Minh City, and Vinh Long had the highest purchase prices at 69,000 VND/kg. The lowest prices in the region were in An Giang and Can Tho at 67,000 VND/kg.

Illegal pig slaughterhouse discovered in Dong Nai.

Authorities in Dong Nai province have just uncovered an illegal pig slaughtering operation in Long Binh Ward, Dong Nai. At the scene, the joint forces discovered approximately 550 kg of pork that had a foul odor and had changed color, stored in a cold storage warehouse and freezer.

The owner of the establishment, Mr. Tran Huy Manh, could not present an operating license or any documents proving food safety. According to his statement, the pigs and meat were purchased from markets for distribution to the market for profit. Currently, all seized items have been sealed pending the results of the inspection and processing according to the law.
