Opening Ceremony of Cua Lo Tourism Festival 2026: Honoring ASEAN Clean Tourism City
On the evening of April 25th, at Binh Minh Square (Cua Lo Ward), Nghe An province solemnly held the opening ceremony of the Cua Lo Tourism Festival 2026 with the theme "Cua Lo - The Quintessence of Lam Thuy". The program was broadcast live on NTV and the digital platforms of Nghe An Newspaper and Radio and Television, marking the beginning of a vibrant beach tourism season.
Attending the ceremony were Ms. Trinh Thi Thuy, Deputy Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism, along with representatives from the leadership of various departments, bureaus, and units under the ministry.
Representing Military Region 4 was Major General Doan Xuan Buong - Member of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Vietnam, Member of the Central Military Commission, Secretary of the Party Committee, and Political Commissar of Military Region 4.
Representing Nghe An province were: Nguyen Khac Than - Member of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Vietnam, Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Head of the Provincial National Assembly Delegation; Hoang Nghia Hieu - Standing Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the Provincial People's Council; Vo Trong Hai - Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee; and Vo Thi Minh Sinh - Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairwoman of the Provincial Fatherland Front Committee.
Also attending were members of the Standing Committee of the Provincial Party Committee; members of the Provincial Party Committee; representatives of leaders from various departments, agencies, and localities, along with a large number of local people and tourists.

In his opening remarks, Comrade Thai Van Thanh, Member of the Provincial Party Committee and Vice Chairman of the Nghe An Provincial People's Committee, emphasized that the Cua Lo Tourism Festival 2026, held in the joyful atmosphere of the historic April days, is an important event aimed at promoting the image of the land and people of Nghe An to domestic and international tourists.

The comrade affirmed that Nghe An is a land rich in historical and cultural traditions, with many famous relics, scenic spots, and diverse ecosystems; it is the birthplace of President Ho Chi Minh - an outstanding cultural figure, along with unique cultural values, including the Vi and Giam folk songs - a representative intangible cultural heritage of humanity.

In that overall picture,Cua LoIdentified as a key coastal tourism city of the province, with advantages in natural landscapes, increasingly synchronized tourism infrastructure, and a developed service system, it is gradually asserting its position as an attractive destination on the Vietnamese tourism map.
The Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee stated that the implementation...Resolution No. 39 of the PolitburoRegarding the construction and development of Nghe An province until 2030, with a vision to 2045, the province is striving to make tourism a key economic sector, building Nghe An into one of the tourism centers of the North Central region. In particular, Cua Lo plays a key role as one of the key destinations, contributing to the promotion of tourism development in the province.

The Cua Lo Tourism Festival 2026, themed "The Call of the Sea in All Four Seasons," reflects the aspiration to build an increasingly modern coastal tourism city, worthy of its potential and advantages; it is also an opportunity to promote and introduce the image of Cua Lo beach and the people of Nghe An province, contributing to spreading love for the sea and islands and attracting tourists.

At the ceremony, the Organizing Committee announced the decision to honor Cua Lo as "ASEAN Clean Tourism City 2026" - a title awarded at the Southeast Asia Tourism Forum - 2026 held in Cebu City (Philippines); announced Decision No. 23 dated January 6, 2026 of the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism on including the Mai Bang Temple Festival in the National List of Intangible Cultural Heritage; and presented flowers to express gratitude to the sponsors of the Cua Lo Tourism Festival 2026.

The highlight of the Opening Ceremony was a spectacular and elaborately staged artistic program, consisting of three parts: "Cua Lo - A Land of Remnants," "Cua Lo - Waves Awakening in the Green Region," and "Cua Lo - Touching the Waves of the Future."




The performances featured many renowned artists such as People's Artist Hong Luu, Meritorious Artist Minh Tam, Meritorious Artist Que Thuong, singers Dong Hung, Ha Quynh Nhu, Phuong My Chi… along with professional art units and amateur actors.


The program harmoniously combines music, dance, modern projections, and local cultural elements, vividly recreating the atmosphere of the Lam Thuy fishing village and its cultural heritage, while simultaneously projecting the image of a youthful, dynamic, and forward-looking Cua Lo.



The opening night concluded with a spectacular high-altitude fireworks display illuminating the Cua Lo seascape, leaving a lasting impression on locals and tourists alike, and ushering in a new and promising tourism season.
