Xiaomi is reportedly going to discontinue the Pro Max version of the Redmi K100 series, replacing it with a new model codenamed Q11X, which uses a 2nm chip architecture and the HyperOS 3 operating system.

Xiaomi's Redmi K100 smartphone line will likely not have a Pro Max version like its predecessor. Instead of continuing the old naming formula, Xiaomi's sub-brand seems to be repositioning its high-end flagship segment with a completely new model number.

The model number has changed from Q11U to Q11X.

According to insider reports, the device with the internal model number Q11U – believed to be the Redmi K100 Pro Max – is no longer in production. Instead, a new device with the model number Q11X has surfaced. This is a notable change because the previous generation Redmi K90 Pro Max had the model number P11U.

The change from Q11U to Q11X suggests that Xiaomi may be looking to build a distinct identity for its flagship product line. While the "Pro Max" name is popular, it can easily be confused with Apple's strategy. Therefore, switching to a different name like Redmi K100 Ultra or a new designation would help the company increase brand recognition.

Breakthrough configuration with 2nm architecture chipset.

Leaked data reveals that the Q11X model has begun running early test versions of the HyperOS 3 operating system. Notably, this operating system is said to be optimized for the 2nm chip architecture, promising superior performance and optimal energy efficiency.

The device will most likely be equipped with the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 6 series chipset. If this information is accurate, the Redmi K100 series will not simply be a minor upgrade but a leap forward in hardware technology. In the international market, this model may reappear under the POCO brand as the POCO F9 Ultra.

While awaiting the official launch of the Redmi K100 series, users can refer to the latest technological standards that Xiaomi is applying to its current Ultra series to understand the company's direction:
