Manchester United have officially opened talks with Leicester City regarding Jeremy Monga, the young talent who holds a historic Premier League record, in order to strengthen their wing positions.

Manchester United have officially entered negotiations with Leicester City regarding Jeremy Monga. This move marks a new step in the Red Devils' strategy to rejuvenate the squad, prioritizing talents with long-term development potential rather than short-term, experienced options.

Jeremy Monga là mục tiêu chuyển nhượng hàng đầu của Manchester United
Monga is the type of player that MU would love to have in their squad.

The young record holder has caught Jason Wilcox's attention.

According to talkSPORT, Director of Football Jason Wilcox has met with Leicester officials to discuss Jeremy Monga's future. The 16-year-old winger is no stranger to Leicester history, having previously made history as the youngest player to appear in the Premier League at the age of 15 years and 271 days.

During last season's Championship campaign, Monga showed remarkable maturity with 27 appearances, contributing 1 goal and 2 assists. The young star's greatest strengths are his speed and ability to maintain a position on the wing, qualities that the current Manchester United squad is severely lacking.

Why Man Utd are desperate for a pure winger.

Although Manchester United had previously contacted players like Matheus Cunha and Bryan Mbeumo, the club's management felt these players were more suited to playing as wide forwards. In contrast, Monga is a classic winger – a true winger capable of stretching the opposition's defense with his speed and individual skill.

Former Leicester manager Ruud van Nistelrooy once had special praise for his pupil:"He's a fantastic winger and has speed. He's an outstanding talent, a great guy.".

The fierce race in the transfer market.

Leicester City's relegation to League One has created a favorable scenario in negotiations. Manchester United believe they can acquire Monga for a reasonable fee given his immense potential. However, the challenge is significant, with as many as 10 top clubs in England and Europe closely monitoring the deal.

Besides Monga, Manchester United have also been mentioned in the race to sign Eli Junior Kroupi from Bournemouth. However, with Bournemouth determined to keep the 19-year-old striker for at least another season, Monga has emerged as a more realistic and viable target for the Old Trafford side to complete their attacking lineup for the future.
