Nghe An launches the Month of Action for Children in 2026.
With the theme "Happy, safe, and confident children in the digital age," on the morning of May 26th, the Nghe An Department of Health, in coordination with the Hai Loc Commune People's Committee, organized the launching ceremony for the 2026 Action Month for Children.
Speaking at the ceremony, Mr. Nguyen Van Nam, Deputy Director of the Department of Health and Deputy Head of the Standing Committee of the Provincial Steering Committee for Child Affairs, emphasized: Children are the future of the country and a crucial resource for the sustainable development of the homeland. Over the years, Nghe An has always considered the protection, care, and education of children as a strategic and long-term task, with many practical programs such as supporting children in difficult circumstances; building safe schools; preventing accidents, injuries, drowning, and child abuse; and providing healthcare for children in remote areas.

According to statistics, the province currently has 992,281 children under 16 years old, accounting for 27.52% of the population; of which more than 15,300 children are in special circumstances, nearly 117,000 children are at risk of falling into special circumstances, and more than 41,000 children live in poor households.
Besides opportunities for development in the digital environment, children are also facing many risks such as drowning accidents, injuries, violence, abuse, and especially negative impacts from cyberspace such as harmful information, online scams, cyberbullying, video game addiction, or dependence on smart devices.
At the launching ceremony, Deputy Director of the Department of Health Nguyen Van Nam requested that all levels, sectors, and localities focus on effectively implementing solutions to protect children, prioritizing the prevention of drowning and injuries during the summer; strengthening education on life skills, digital skills, and self-protection skills for children; and building a safe and friendly learning and playing environment.
At the same time, more attention should be paid to poor children, children in remote areas, children with disabilities, and orphans to ensure that all children have equal access to education, healthcare, and basic social services.

The 2026 Month of Action for Children will be implemented from June 1st to June 30th, 2026, throughout the province, with many key activities such as: Strengthening communication on child protection in the online environment; organizing health check-ups and care; teaching swimming and equipping children with skills to prevent and respond to drowning; training in skills to prevent and respond to accidents and injuries; providing mental health care in schools; visiting and supporting children in special circumstances; and mobilizing social resources to jointly care for and protect children.
Through this Action Month, Nghe An aims to build a safe, healthy, and friendly living environment, creating conditions for all children to develop comprehensively, confidently, and confidently in the digital age.
At the launching ceremony, the Provincial Children's Protection Fund, the Provincial Association for the Protection of Children's Rights and the Support of People with Disabilities, Hai Loc commune, and Luxshare ICT Nghe An Co., Ltd. presented many gifts to disadvantaged students in Hai Loc commune.

On this occasion, the Department of Health provided the People's Committee of Hai Loc commune with 20 life jackets to support the work of raising awareness and preventing drowning accidents among children.
