On June 5th, the Foundation for a Green Future, in collaboration with Vingroup's member and affiliated companies, will launch the "Acting Together for a Green Planet" campaign, simultaneously implemented in 34 provinces and cities and 3 international locations.

The campaign aims to celebrate World Environment Day (June 5th) and World Ocean Day (June 8th); and has received active cooperation from local authorities, the Youth Union of the Ministry of Agriculture and Environment, grassroots youth organizations, schools, and many partner units nationwide. The campaign is expected to attract more than 25,000 participants.

The highlight of the campaign is its four pillars of large-scale activities: a simultaneous environmental cleanup at 38 locations both domestically and internationally on the morning of June 5th; the "Zero-Emission Movement - Green Movement for a Green Future" campaign; the "Green Creativity Challenge" environmental-themed video contest; and the interactive livestream series "Conquering Green Knowledge" in the first week of June.

The campaign was launched on the morning of June 5th, with the participation of over 10,000 Vingroup employees, volunteers, and local residents. They all simultaneously carried out a comprehensive cleanup at 38 locations nationwide, as well as in Laos, Indonesia, and the Philippines.

The initiative spans from coastlines and urban parks to residential areas and public spaces. Participants will collect various types of waste, such as plastic bottles, plastic bags, and household waste, which are polluting the ecosystem and urban environment, affecting the quality of life and sustainable development of each locality.

The simultaneous launch at 38 locations both domestically and internationally signifies a large-scale community connection, spanning from Vietnam to countries across Southeast Asia. Through practical actions, the campaign aims to form a network of green citizens who share responsibility for preserving the ecosystem, spreading the spirit of environmental action, and inspiring a sustainable lifestyle.

“The simultaneous implementation in 34 provinces and cities nationwide, along with international locations in Laos, Indonesia, and the Philippines, not only expands the scale of the campaign's impact but also marks a new stage in the journey of the Green Future Foundation, gradually bringing Vietnam-initiated environmental initiatives to the regional level. Through this campaign, the Foundation aims to connect multicultural and diverse communities to work together for the environment, while promoting cross-border cooperation to address sustainable development challenges at the regional and global levels,” said Dr. Le Thai Ha, Executive Director of the Green Future Foundation.

Also on the morning of June 5th, an estimated 10,000 people are expected to participate in the "Zero-Emission Movement - Green Movement for a Green Future" by using electric buses, electric motorbikes, bicycles, or walking to work and school instead of fossil fuel vehicles. Participants are encouraged to share check-in photos with their green vehicles on social media, so that each green journey becomes a call to action for the community.

As part of the campaign, the Foundation also organized an inspirational video creation contest titled “Green Creativity Challenge” (running from June 1st to July 28th) for young content creators nationwide, revolving around three main themes: green environment, green transportation, and green energy. With a total prize value of up to 500 million VND, the contest aims to form a community of young content creators who spread a green lifestyle and sustainable development, while promoting environmental protection actions from local communities.

In addition, on the evenings of June 1st, 3rd, 5th, and 7th, the Foundation for a Green Future will host a series of interactive livestreams titled "Conquering Green Knowledge" on its official Facebook page. The program will provide practical knowledge about water resource conservation, green agriculture, climate change, and more through engaging interactive formats including quizzes and knowledge-based games. With the participation of environmental and sustainable development experts, along with young pioneers in green living, the program hopes to contribute to spreading a multifaceted, accessible, and practical understanding of sustainable development to the community.

The “Acting Together for a Green Planet” campaign continues the enduring journey that the Foundation for a Green Future has been undertaking to promote green lifestyles and sustainable development in Vietnam. Over the years, the Foundation has continuously launched numerous large-scale community initiatives such as the “Green Wednesday” campaign, programs promoting green mobility, green consumption, green education, and many activities connecting businesses, schools, localities, and people to gradually build an ecosystem of environmental action that is synchronized, long-term, and sustainable.
