Xiaomi introduces AI-optimized V8s EVO electric motors, enabling the YU7 GT to achieve 1,003 horsepower and accelerate from 0-100 km/h in 2.92 seconds.

In an effort to redefine electric vehicle performance standards, Xiaomi Auto has officially announced details of its V8s EVO supercharger. This is the company's most powerful engine to date, and is expected to be featured for the first time in the high-performance Xiaomi YU7 GT, delivering performance comparable to top-tier supercars.

Most notably, the EVO V8s engine boasts a top speed of 28,000 rpm, equivalent to over 466 revolutions per second. To achieve this impressive figure without resorting to expensive reinforcement methods like carbon fiber wrapping, Xiaomi utilized artificial intelligence (AI) to optimize the rotor structure. The AI ​​system simulated over 1 million silicon steel sheet designs to find the structure with the highest strength and ability to withstand extremely high inertial forces at super-high speeds.

Each EVO V8s engine unit is capable of producing a maximum power output of up to 611 horsepower (PS). This power makes the engine one of the highest power-density components in the electric vehicle industry today.

To ensure stable operation under high intensity, Xiaomi has equipped the system with its own self-developed silicon carbide power module. This technology allows the system to output an effective current of up to 800A across the entire voltage range, helping the power controller achieve a peak power density of 120 kW/L, a 5.9% increase compared to its predecessors.

The system also utilizes ultra-thin silicon steel sheets with a thickness of only 0.15 mm for both the stator and rotor, a 57% reduction in thickness compared to the previous generation. This improvement reduces energy loss due to induced current (iron loss) by approximately 18.7%. Combined with X-Pin flat winding technology, the motor's peak efficiency reaches 98.38%, optimizing the conversion of electrical energy into mechanical energy.

Beyond pure performance, Xiaomi also prioritizes practicality through its Economy mode. In this mode, a disconnect mechanism separates the front motor from the driveshaft, reducing friction and unnecessary energy consumption. According to the manufacturer, this feature can extend the vehicle's range by an additional 20 km in the CLTC test cycle. Meanwhile, in normal driving modes, the all-wheel drive system is maintained to ensure optimal traction and power.
