During his State visit to the Republic of Singapore, on the morning of May 30th, General Secretary and President To Lam and his wife, along with the high-level Vietnamese delegation, laid wreaths at the statue and memorial plaque of President Ho Chi Minh within the grounds of the Asian Civilisations Museum in Singapore.

In a solemn atmosphere, General Secretary and President To Lam and his wife, along with the high-ranking Vietnamese delegation, observed a minute of silence in remembrance of President Ho Chi Minh, the brilliant leader, the great teacher of the Vietnamese revolution, the national liberation hero, the exemplary international communist fighter, and the close friend of peace-loving and progressive peoples around the world.

Throughout his life dedicated to the nation and its people, President Ho Chi Minh left the Vietnamese people an invaluable intellectual legacy, a shining example of morality, style, and lifestyle, which has become the ideological foundation and guiding principle in every stage of the Vietnamese revolution. His incredibly rich career also made invaluable contributions to the revolutionary causes of oppressed nations around the world, and to the development of the finest intellectual and cultural achievements of humanity.

The Asian Civilisations Museum, located next to the Singapore River, illustrates the historical connections between Asian cultures and between Asia and the world. Within the museum grounds, in May 2008, to commemorate the 118th anniversary of President Ho Chi Minh's birth and the 35th anniversary of diplomatic relations between Vietnam and Singapore, the Singapore National Heritage Board unveiled a memorial plaque to President Ho Chi Minh.

In September 2011, at the suggestion of friends who love Vietnam at the Singapore National Heritage Committee, the Vietnamese Embassy in Singapore, and the Ho Chi Minh Museum, a statue of President Ho Chi Minh was placed next to the memorial plaque. In the spacious Asian Civilisations Museum, alongside the statue of President Ho Chi Minh, there are also statues of many other Asian leaders and prominent figures.
