Warning of the risk of African swine fever outbreak.
Besides price fluctuations, Thanh Hoa's agricultural sector is intensifying warnings about the risk of a resurgence of African swine fever, despite the province having previously declared the disease eradicated. With a total pig population of approximately 1.3 million, small-scale farming that does not ensure biosecurity poses a significant challenge to disease prevention efforts.
In Xuan Binh commune, Thanh Hoa province, local authorities have requested livestock farmers to strictly implement biosecurity measures, spray disinfectants, and closely monitor slaughtering activities. The Provincial Department of Livestock and Veterinary Medicine also maintains rapid response teams to decisively handle outbreaks as soon as they appear, absolutely preventing them from spreading widely, especially in the current hot weather conditions.
