The Criminal Investigation Department of the Hanoi City Police has just arrested four individuals involved in a large-scale online gambling ring that organized and participated in football betting.
The Criminal Investigation Department of the Hanoi City Police has successfully dismantled a large-scale gambling ring operating in the form of football betting. The ringleader is Tran Trung Hieu (born in 1985; residing in Ba Dinh Ward, Hanoi City).

Through intelligence gathering and the implementation of investigative measures, the investigating agency determined that Tran Trung Hieu and his accomplices used mobile phones to engage in football betting. The suspects conducted betting transactions through the website bong88.
The individuals involved have been identified as: Nguyen Thanh Long (born in 1986; residing in Hong Ha Ward, Hanoi); Tran Manh Cuong (born in 1979; residing in Cua Nam Ward, Hanoi); and Trinh Tien Dat (born in 1996; residing in Thanh Xuan District, Hanoi).
Four suspects were arrested and evidence was seized.
Based on the documents and evidence collected, on June 13, 2026, the Criminal Police Department proceeded to arrest the four aforementioned individuals for the crimes of organizing gambling and participating in gambling. According to initial estimates by the authorities, the total amount of money transacted in this gambling ring reached tens of billions of VND.
The case is currently being further investigated by the Hanoi City Police Investigation Agency. Authorities are summoning the remaining individuals involved in organizing and participating in gambling activities to be dealt with strictly according to the law.
