Following a series of cases involving illegally constructed tombs on agricultural land and protected forest land in various localities in Nghe An province, the Quỳnh Lưu commune authorities continued to organize the forced demolition of violating structures, demonstrating their determination to restore order in cemetery land management in the area.
On July 30th, Mr. Hoang Quoc Hoan, Vice Chairman of the People's Committee of Quynh Luu commune, stated that the local authorities had mobilized forces to dismantle illegally constructed tombs in the Ru The cemetery, village 1, Quynh Dien.
According to Mr. Hoan, in mid-July, local authorities discovered that Mr. Nguyen Dinh Trong (village 2, Quynh Dien) had leveled the land and was constructing a tomb. Meanwhile, Mr. Ho Ngoc Ha's household (village 1, Quynh Dien) had leveled the land but had not yet begun construction.
In addition, residents reported that two other households had arbitrarily leveled the land and constructed foundations since February 2025. Mr. Hoan said that immediately after discovering the violations, the Village Committee of Hamlet 1, Quynh Dien, drew up a report and requested the households to stop construction immediately. However, Mr. Nguyen Dinh Trong's household continued to build the tomb.
On July 28th and 29th, the People's Committee of the commune conducted on-site inspections, invited households to the Cultural Center of Hamlet 1, Quynh Dien to work with them, disseminate information, and request them to voluntarily dismantle all infringing structures before 11:00 AM on July 29th. Despite repeated explanations and persuasion, the households still refused to comply.
In response to this situation, the People's Committee of Quynh Luu commune organized a force to dismantle the illegal structures in accordance with the law; at the same time, they requested households to strictly comply with regulations on the management and use of cemetery land, and not to arbitrarily level the ground or build tombs without permission from the competent authority.
