Ben Thuy 1 Bridge gets a new look amidst the Lam River.

Since the installation of decorative lighting and safety nets along both sides of the railings, Ben Thuy 1 Bridge has taken on a new, more dazzling appearance amidst the Lam River. Not only does it contribute to the scenic beauty, the safety nets also help deter jumping from the bridge and contribute to ensuring safety on the bridge.
Ben Thuy 1 Bridge, spanning the Lam River and connecting Nghe An and Ha Tinh provinces, is one of the important transportation projects on National Highway 1. Construction began in 1986, and the bridge was inaugurated on May 19, 1990. It is 630.5 meters long with 13 spans. Over the years, this area has seen numerous incidents of people jumping off the bridge, highlighting the urgent need to protect the bridge and human lives. (Photo: QA)The project to install protective netting on Ben Thuy 1 Bridge, with a total cost of approximately 2.9 billion VND, is invested by the People's Committee of Nghi Xuan Commune (Ha Tinh Province). It contributes to creating a new look for Ben Thuy 1 Bridge and simultaneously enhances safety for people and vehicles crossing the bridge. The vertical posts are positioned in the same location as the old railing, anchored to the bridge's concrete, and additional horizontal bracing is added to increase stability.
