Hai Sapa TV has been prosecuted.
Vu Hoang Hai, commonly known as Hai Sapa TV, has been charged with defrauding customers in connection with dried buffalo meat products.
On the evening of August 24th, the Ministry of Public Security announced that the Lao Cai Provincial Police, in coordination with the Department of Environmental Crime Prevention and Control (C05, Ministry of Public Security), are investigating and clarifying signs of legal violations by Vu Hoang Hai (commonly known as Hai Sapa TV, residing in Lao Cai province), along with related individuals and organizations.
To date, the Investigation Police Department of Lao Cai province has initiated a criminal case regarding violations of accounting regulations causing serious consequences and deceiving customers. The investigating agency has also indicted three suspects.
In this case, Vu Hoang Hai was charged with defrauding customers. The other two defendants, Pham Van Ha (Director of Hoang Nam General Production and Trading Joint Stock Company) and Bui Thi Kim Tuyen, were charged with violating accounting regulations causing serious consequences.
According to the investigation results, in 2022, Vu Hoang Hai, taking advantage of his influence on social media platforms, instructed his wife, Bui Thi Kim Tuyen, to sign contracts for the sale of "spicy dried buffalo meat" products.
This product, manufactured by Hoang Nam General Production and Trading Joint Stock Company using frozen buffalo meat imported from India, is advertised as "Northwest Vietnam specialty dried buffalo meat".
