PNJ shares continued to fall to the floor price, with tens of millions of units remaining unsold.

Opening the trading session on the morning of September 29th, the overall sentiment on the electronic board remained quite negative, with red dominating while liquidity remained low. Although selling pressure was not as widespread and intense as yesterday morning's session, the market still lacked strong positive momentum to create a recovery.

Notably, many individual stocks continue to face significant selling pressure and sharp declines, further limiting the overall market recovery potential.

Typically, NVL, KOS, and PNJ were all sold off and hit their lower limit. NVL led in liquidity after more than an hour of trading with nearly 14 million units traded, but still had nearly 65 million units remaining unsold at the lower limit price.

Selling pressure was particularly strong at KOS and PNJ, with both stocks having outstanding sell orders at the floor price exceeding 21 million and 30 million units, respectively.

In the banking sector, TCB (-0.61%), CTG (+0.17%), LPB (-2.42%), HDB (-0.18%), MSB (-0.35%), and TPB (-0.68%) saw declines. In the real estate sector, VIC (-0.69%), VHM (+0.72%), VPI (-0.65%), NVL (-6.69%), KDH (+0.38%), and DIG (+4.88%) saw declines.

Financial services group: SSI (+0.74%), VCI (+1.8%), VND (+1.08%), VIX (+1.21%), SHS (+0.76%) and MBS (+0.64%). Oil and gas group: BSR (-0.46%), PLX (+2.53%), PVS (+0.9%), PVD (+0.27%) and OIL (+2.24%).

At the close of trading, the VN-Index fell 1.44 points to 1,779.24 points (-0.08%) compared to the previous session. Similarly, the HNX-Index decreased by 271.14 points (-0.06%), equivalent to 0.17 points. Meanwhile, the UPCoM-Index increased by 125.72 points (+0.61%), equivalent to 0.76 points.

Market liquidity reached VND 4,922.51 billion, with 214 million shares traded. Across the sector, 128 stocks rose, 167 fell, and 49 dropped to their reference price.

According to experts at AIS Securities Company, yesterday, the VN-Index recorded a sluggish trading session as selling pressure continued to prevail, reflecting the tug-of-war sentiment at key support levels.

Market liquidity remains low – reflecting investor caution and something we find concerning.

The 1,770-1,775 point level (the 50-day and 50-week moving averages) are crucial support levels that require special attention. If this level is breached, the risk of a correction to the 1,720 point level will increase significantly.

Investors should prioritize risk management, reduce their holdings in sectors under heavy selling pressure, and only consider investing when the index confirms equilibrium at the support level.
