Nghe An Oncology Hospital Project (Phase 2) belongs to Group A project, civil construction project with total construction floor area of 75,000m2with the main building with 1,005 international standard beds. The total investment of the project is 1,259 billion VND; the total capital plan allocated from 2021 to present is 661.5 billion VND. This is a key project, attracting the attention of the Provincial Party Committee, Provincial People's Committee and all levels because of its urgency and practical effectiveness for people in the province and the North Central region.

The early commissioning of the project will be a milestone in the province's healthcare sector, as it will be the largest specialized hospital in the North Central region, contributing to the implementation of Resolution No. 39-NQ/TW dated July 18, 2023 of the Politburo on the construction and development of Nghe An province to 2030 with a vision to 2045: "Developing Vinh city's healthcare to become the core of the North Central region's specialized healthcare center, including developing a number of hospitals into special-class, end-line hospitals".

In 2023, the building was completed in time for the rough construction, and the topping-out ceremony was held right before Tet 2024. To speed up the project's progress, from the beginning of 2024, the investor instructed the units to urgently construct while still ensuring the quality of the project. Currently, the construction site has 12 equipment installation contractors coordinating to complete the project. At the same time, the completed equipment will soon be brought to the site and installed in September 2024. It is expected that by the end of 2024, the project will basically complete the items, and in early 2025, it will be handed over and put into use to serve the cancer treatment needs of the North Central region.

Nghe An Oncology Hospital not only focuses on building facilities but also pays attention to other key factors to improve operational efficiency. Investing in advanced equipment, implementing the construction of a modern, smart hospital, connecting people with data and technology helps to serve the medical examination and treatment work with the highest efficiency.
In order to take over and operate modern facilities, Nghe An Oncology Hospital has paid early attention to building a team of doctors and nurses with "good medical skills and good medical ethics". Currently, the hospital has a scale of 1,200 planned beds, 1,324 actual beds with 45 departments, rooms, centers and a team of nearly 1,100 officers and employees, including 01 Associate Professor, PhD; 02 PhDs, 15 doctors with specialist level II, 02 pharmacists with specialist level II, 02 resident doctors, 43 medical masters and many other high-quality human resources. Every year, the hospital is proactive in training and updating high technology and advanced techniques by sending teams of officers to participate in training at leading medical units at home and abroad to keep up with trends and prepare for the best operation of new equipment.

Regarding modern equipment, Nghe An Oncology Hospital has focused on investing in modern and synchronous medical equipment such as: 02 dose-modulated accelerator radiotherapy systems; 1.5 Tesla magnetic resonance imaging system; 128-slice computed tomography system, CT simulation; Mamography system with 3D system; Ultrasound endoscopy system for early cancer diagnosis; Tissue elastography machine; Fibioscan ultrasound machine; Digital X-ray system; Fully automatic biochemical and immunological testing system; Gene sequencing system; Cancer diagnosis and treatment monitoring systems such as SPECT, SPECT/CT machines... In addition, the hospital has completed the installation location of the Cyclotron system for producing radioactive isotopes and PET/CT machines, awaiting approval of the project "Equipping PET/CT systems and Cyclotron systems for producing radioactive isotopes" for timely installation and use.

At the same time, the Hospital has actively applied information technology. It is expected that on May 15, 2024, Nghe An Oncology Hospital will officially deploy electronic medical records to completely replace paper medical records, store and transmit medical images instead of printing films and store test information instead of printing paper. This is an important step towards the goal of turning the hospital into a smart hospital, thereby digitizing examination and professional processes, and connecting data between departments and rooms, to optimize the process, contributing to improving quality and bringing satisfaction to patients. As a result, clinical decisions are more accurate, examination and care processes are seamless, standardized, eliminating manual operations and reducing workload for medical staff. The quality of care and treatment is improved, patients have easy access to medical services.

The new hospital was established to provide high-quality health care services, while meeting the needs of cancer examination and treatment for the people of the province as well as in the region. With synchronous investment in facilities, equipment, human resources and technology, along with the attention and close direction from leaders at all levels, the efforts of the Board of Directors and the staff, Nghe An Oncology Hospital is committed to becoming a bright spot in the health sector of the North Central region, contributing to the completion of the task of protecting and caring for people's health, while improving the quality of life for cancer patients./.
