During the working trip to Truong Sa archipelago from late 2022 to early 2023, we were surprised and moved to attend the new Party member admission ceremony here. Unlike the Party admission ceremonies that we have experienced and attended on the mainland, the Party admission ceremony in Truong Sa archipelago, in addition to the solemn national anthem and the oath before the Party and the Fatherland, also had the sound of waves lapping. That made the new Party members and all the attendees feel many indescribable emotions.
At exactly 8:00 p.m. on the first day of the new year 2023, the Party admission ceremony on Sinh Ton Island took place. Although the ceremony was held in a small hall on the island, it was no less solemn. The honorable person to be organized by the Island Party Cell, under the Sinh Ton Island Party Committee, to organize this Party admission ceremony was Lieutenant Tran Ba Long, from Hoang Tan Commune, Hoang Hoa District (Thanh Hoa). Although he has only been here for 5 years, comrade Long has worked on 3 different islands: Phan Vinh, Sinh Ton Dong and the large Sinh Ton Island. After years of training in the Truong Sa archipelago, comrade Long has become more imbued with the ideals of the Party and the Vietnam People's Army for an independent and territorially intact Vietnam that the Party and beloved Uncle Ho have worked hard to build.

At the Party admission ceremony, standing under the national flag, the Party flag, and the statue of President Ho Chi Minh, Lieutenant Tran Ba Long loudly swore “Absolute loyalty to the Party’s revolutionary goals and ideals; strictly abide by the Party’s Political Platform and Charter. Strictly implement the Party’s Resolutions and Directives, and the State’s laws; successfully complete all assigned tasks; absolutely obey the Party’s assignments and mobilizations…”.
Right after the ceremony, new party member Tran Ba Long shared that when he first came to work on the island, the environment and life were completely different from the mainland, but thanks to the attention of the unit's leaders, he always tried his best to complete the assigned tasks well. He always actively participated in the activities of the Youth Union, and constantly trained and strived to achieve the goal of joining the Party that he always dreamed of. Although he experienced many working environments with their own characteristics and difficulties, he always tried to overcome them, and then attended a class to improve awareness of the Party and was admitted to the Party right on Truong Sa archipelago - something that every naval officer and soldier wishes for and strives for.

Lieutenant Colonel Hoang Duc Chien - Deputy Political Commissar of Sinh Ton Island, concurrently Secretary of the Island Party Cell, shared: Party development work at the Party cell in particular and the Party Committee in general is an important task, determining the strength of the Party. Because if the Party cell is strong, the Party Committee will be strong. And if you want the Party cell to be strong, you must have many Party members.
In fact, Party admission on islands and military bases in Truong Sa archipelago is very important not only for soldiers but also for the whole unit. Along with the work of creating sources and training new Party members, the islands in Truong Sa archipelago also quickly deployed the construction of 4 good Party cells (Good leaders completing tasks - Good quality of activities - Good solidarity and discipline - Good Party members). At the same time, the task of training and combat readiness is linked to studying and following the ideology, morality and style of President Ho Chi Minh.

In Truong Sa, what we noticed was that there were many soldiers who were very young. Through training, they were ready to overcome all difficulties and hardships in the vast ocean to excellently complete their tasks. In addition to the party members who were admitted to the Party right on the island, there were also new party members who were officially transferred to the Party and young party members who were admitted to the Party from school or in units on the mainland and then came to the island to live and mature.
Sharing his feelings when he was officially transferred to the Party right at Truong Sa, soldier Tran Van Phuc on Da Nam Island could not hide his emotions. He said: “Being in the ranks of the Party is a source of great pride for me, and it is also a motivation for me to continue striving. After completing my mission and returning to my locality, I will strive to study and train hard, so as not to disappoint the expectations and to be worthy of being a Party member returning from Truong Sa.”

Captain Le Quang Toan - Political Commissar of Da Nam Island shared that the task of training and guiding new party members to maturity is a common task of the unit. Due to working far from the mainland, in a difficult island environment, helping new party members complete their tasks and develop themselves is also a way to build an increasingly strong unit.
Lieutenant Ngo Quang Dat, from Son Hai commune, Quynh Luu district (Nghe An), active in the Party Cell of Combat Group 3, Sinh Ton Island Party Committee, was admitted to the Party while still in the Army Academy in 2018 and officially transferred in 2019. After graduating and working in Naval Region 1 for a short time, in early 2022, Ngo Quang Dat was transferred to Naval Region 4 to take on a new assignment and set off for Truong Sa. As a young party member, having experienced many different working and training environments, comrade Dat said: “No matter where, when you join the Party, you have to strive even harder. You must keep your oath before the Party and the Fatherland. That is something that not only me but every soldier must keep in mind.”

On the islands and military bases in the Truong Sa archipelago, for the naval soldiers living and fighting on islands hundreds of nautical miles away from the mainland, the Party's revolutionary ideals are always the guiding principle for all actions. Lieutenant Colonel Pham Van Tho - Deputy Political Commissar of Brigade 146, Naval Region 4 Command said: Party development work is an important and regular task, aiming to supplement the contingent of Party members with quality to meet increasingly high requirements of the tasks. This is also an important task of building a clean and strong grassroots Party organization, rejuvenating the contingent of Party members, ensuring the inheritance and development of the Party.
Leaving Truong Sa when the 93rd anniversary of the Party's founding day had just arrived. Saying goodbye to the sacred sea to return to the mainland, in addition to the determined eyes of the young soldiers, we also received promises of determination. Because for the masses newly admitted to the Party, or even young Party members, striving and training well, especially in performing practical tasks at the unit, is what everyone aims for. When standing in the ranks of the Party, the soldiers have become more mature, seeing their responsibility as greater in holding their guns firmly, ready to fight and sacrifice to firmly protect the sovereignty of the sacred sea and islands of the Fatherland./.
