How does Son Tung M-TP make huge money with million-view MVs on YouTube?
As one of the top singers in Vietnamese showbiz, Son Tung M-TP owns many music videos with huge views. So how much is the estimated revenue that the male singer from Thai Binh earns?

Mr. Nguyen Chi Cong (former manager of the content management system on the YouTube platform in the Vietnamese market) said: "Children's videos often have lower CPM (revenue per 1,000 views) than other content, about 2 - 3 million VND/1 million views.
Adult entertainment MV content has a CPM (estimated) of 5-7 million VND/1 million views (higher revenue due to content for teenagers and adults).
Therefore, the estimated revenue for Son Tung M-TP's latest MV (Don't Make My Heart Hurt) with 30 million views will be around 150 - 210 million VND.

Similar to the above calculation, the estimated revenue of Son Tung M-TP's other MVs such as "We of the Future" with 59 million views is about 295 - 413 million VND.
MV "This Place Has You" with 360 million views will have revenue of about 1.8 billion VND - 2.5 billion VND.
The music videos that Son Tung M-TP released on YouTube include: Don't hurt my heart, We of the future, This place has you, It's late but why are you still here, Are you sure this is love, Silently by your side, We of the present, Let go of each other's hands, Give it to me, We don't belong together... with a total of nearly 1.5 billion views.
With 1.5 billion views, estimated revenue will be 7.5 billion VND - 10.5 billion VND.
According to Mr. Nguyen Chi Cong, the above amount is only an estimate, actual revenue may vary. YouTube channel owners must also share revenue with network partners (if any) and pay income tax.
In addition, the conditions for a YouTube channel to enable monetization mode must depend on factors such as: Reaching 1,000 subscribers; Reaching 4,000 public viewing hours in 12 months; Complying with YouTube's community guidelines and terms of service.
Explaining the view attraction from Son Tung M-TP's music products, Mr. Chi Cong said: "Most of the MVs are about love, betrayal, and vibrant music for teenagers and adult listeners.
The MVs quickly reached the top trending, had steady growth in views, were widely shared on social networks, and attracted viewers in a short time...
This also explains why the estimated revenue of MVs with content for teenagers and adults will be higher than the revenue of MVs with content for children.
In addition to revenue from YouTube, Son Tung M-TP also has many other sources of income such as performance fees and commercial cooperation fees with brands.
In July 2021, South China Morning Post published an article about Son Tung M-TP and the assets of this businessman/artist.
South China Morning Post wrote: "No one knows exactly how much Son Tung charges for each performance, but a stage director and event organizer revealed that he is the first Vietnamese singer to be paid up to 'nine zeros'." Although Son Tung M-TP has not been as active as before recently, his revenue is still ranked at the top in the Vietnamese entertainment industry.
