Thanh Chuong focuses on developing transport infrastructure

Route DH 360, connecting National Highway 46C (at the intersection, Thanh Lien commune) with Ho Chi Minh road, passes through 3 communes Thanh Lien, Thanh My, Hanh Lam of Thanh Chuong district. This is an important "blood vessel" road, especially Thanh My commune located in the center of the route, from National Highway 46C or Ho Chi Minh road, all enter this road. However, for decades ago, this road was in a state of serious degradation, becoming a pressing issue for the people of the communes in Cat Ngan area.

By 2020, the DH 360 route was officially upgraded and put into use in 2022 with a total length of more than 10 km, a roadbed of 7.5 m and an asphalt road surface of 5.5 m; total investment of 110 billion VND. Comrade Hoang Tien Tho - Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee, Chairman of the People's Committee of Thanh My commune said: The upgraded DH 360 route, in addition to facilitating the travel of people, especially students in Thanh Son, Hanh Lam, Thanh My, Thanh Lien communes to Thanh Chuong 3 High School, Cat Ngan High School every day; also creates conditions for comprehensive socio-economic development of Thanh My commune, connecting with communes in the region and the district center.

Especially in developing the service and trade economy, many households have reopened kiosks and shops, or invested in expanding their scale, and many have opened new ones. Currently, the commune has 340 households providing commercial services; including 2 mini supermarkets, some restaurants; grocery distribution agents; auto and motorbike repair shops; mechanical facilities, transportation services, etc.

Over the past 2 years, Thanh Chuong district has focused on mobilizing resources and implementing many projects to overcome traffic "bottlenecks" and promote development. For example, in Thanh Lam commune, the road connecting National Highway 46C at Mong bridge to Son Tien commune, Huong Son district (Ha Tinh) is made of concrete, instead of a dirt road, making it muddy when it rains, affecting the travel of more than 400 households in hamlets 5 and 6, Thanh Lam commune and connecting trade between the communes of Bich Hao, Thanh Chuong district and Huong Son district (Ha Tinh). Or the Nhang bridge on the only road to hamlet 1, Thanh Lam commune - home to nearly 300 households - has also been invested in and built, overcoming the situation of separation and isolation of hamlet 1 from the outside during the rainy season.

Some routes, such as the road from Cay Sanh, Thanh Huong commune connecting Ho Chi Minh road, the road from Chua market, Phong Thinh commune to Thanh Hoa and Thanh Duc communes; the road connecting National Highway 46 through Xuan Tuong commune (Thanh Chuong) to Nam Hung commune (Nam Dan) ... have been invested in upgrading and expanding, which has also solved many urgent problems in traffic infrastructure, facilitated people's travel and enhanced connectivity and trade between regions in the district and between the locality and other districts.

In particular, comrade Trinh Van Nha - Deputy Secretary of the District Party Committee, Chairman of the People's Committee of Thanh Chuong district said: It is from the development and removal of some "bottlenecks" in traffic infrastructure in recent years that have created favorable conditions for Thanh Chuong district to attract many investment and development projects, especially tea processing facilities along Ho Chi Minh road; biomass pellet factory in Thanh Huong commune; Matsuoka garment factory of Japan in Thanh Lien commune; garment factory in Thanh Phong commune;...

The development of transport infrastructure has also promoted the connection and development of a number of tourist destinations in the district, such as the tea island, HDT eco-tourism area, Liep waterfall community tourism area, Thanh Thuy border gate, etc.; at the same time, contributing to the shift and development, forming more "poles", centers, and new development towns in the district.

With the mindset that the more developed the transport infrastructure is, the more the socio-economic development will be, in recent years, Thanh Chuong district has focused on attracting resources, building transport infrastructure and considering this an important breakthrough to focus on. Of the 10 key projects and works identified by the district as needing investment and construction right from the beginning of the 2020-2025 term, there are 6 transport projects and works.

With the initiative, consultation, proposal and support from the Central and the province, Thanh Chuong district continues to be supplemented by the province, including 7 more key traffic projects and works in the medium-term public investment plan for the period 2021 - 2025. Typical are Do Cung bridge across Lam river; National Highway 46, from Ngoc Son commune (Thanh Chuong) to Nam Hung commune (Nam Dan) connecting with National Highway 15A; inter-commune traffic road Thanh Tuong, Thanh Van, Thanh Hung, now Dai Dong commune (phase 2); Mo Vinh bridge, Thanh Khe commune... Up to this point, of the 13 key traffic works, 7 have been completed and put into use and 6 works are continuing to be urged by the district, speeding up construction progress and disbursing public investment capital, striving to put into use in 2024.

In particular, implementing Resolution No. 39 of the Politburo on building and developing Nghe An province to 2030, with a vision to 2045, the Government has planned to invest in the Vientiane - Hanoi expressway, in which, priority is given to allocating investment capital for the route from Thanh Thuy Border Gate (Thanh Chuong) to Vinh City to connect the North - South expressway. This is an important opportunity and driving force for Thanh Chuong district to develop more strongly when this route is constructed and put into use in the near future.
