Recalling the book 'The sweater that mother knitted' with content against the Party and State

On November 22, 2021, the Department of Publishing, Printing and Distribution issued Document No. 1193/CXBIPH-QLI&PHXBP to the Department of Information and Communications of provinces and cities regarding coordination in inspecting publications released on the market. Accordingly, the Department of Publishing, Printing and Distribution requested the Departments of Information and Communications to coordinate in recalling the book "The sweater that mother knits" impersonating Hong Duc Publishing House to publish anti-Party and anti-State content.

In the content of this short story, author Trung Quan wrote "I want to knit a shirt of freedom and democracy for my homeland to replace the dictatorship and oppression of Communism, knit the sacred national love instead of the foreign dictatorship, knit prayers and prayers instead of empty promises, demagogic words, deceitful lies..." That is just a quote from "The sweater that mother knits" but clearly the reader can easily see the author's intention of spreading the ideology of opposing the State, opposing the socialist regime in Vietnam, a subversive, foreign, imitative culture that has had the opportunity to penetrate quite deeply into Vietnamese national culture, especially the young generation.

In order to promptly prevent the distribution of the above book in Nghe An, on November 30, 2021, the Department of Information and Communications issued Official Dispatch No. 1855/STTTT-TT requesting the People's Committees of districts, cities and towns to direct the Department of Culture and Information to notify book businesses to know and request a commitment not to buy, sell or keep the book "The sweater that mother knits" under the name of Hong Duc Publishing House.

At the same time, organize inspections of book businesses in the area. In case of discovering the sale or storage of the book "The Mother's Knitted Sweater" bearing the name of Hong Duc Publishing House, the book will be confiscated and temporarily detained at the Department of Culture and Information of districts, cities and towns. At the same time, report the inspection results to the Department of Information and Communications for guidance on handling measures according to regulations./.
