Prime Minister: Stop bringing old thinking into documents.
At the Government meeting on law-making, Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc emphasized: Irrational regulations must be dealt with, because if we continue to follow the old mindset of asking for and giving, how can society develop?
On the afternoon of March 8, under the chairmanship of Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc, the Government held a thematic meeting on law-making. |
In his opening speech, the Prime Minister emphasized that one of the strategic breakthroughs in development is institutions and policies. Therefore, ministries and sectors need to focus better on their work to improve the quality of institutions, a field that currently still has many problems.
“Comrades need to focus more, need to try harder, spend more time, strengthen the institutional department, at the same time the Minister must directly direct this work,” the Prime Minister requested and stated clearly: There is still a situation where this work is not really taken seriously, including allocating time, effort, listening to more opinions to be able to create a good development environment for the country, for the people. There are drafts that are still sketchy, irresponsible, even putting old thinking, or the idea of subsidies, begging, and group interests into the document. The Prime Minister emphasized: This must be stopped, we must do better to liberate production capacity, how can we not let the situation of “running back and forth, begging, unclear regulations make people complain, have to wait in line”. The strange regulations must be handled, if we continue to follow the old thinking, still the idea of begging, giving, and allocating, how can society develop.
Emphasizing the important role of the drafting ministry and the Ministry of Justice in drafting legal documents, the Prime Minister asked members of the Government to speak up and give their opinions on unsatisfactory issues. If any wrongdoings are discovered by the Ministry of Justice, they need to be handled and rectified.
