Honoring and praising 100 outstanding Women's Union officials in 2023

The forum aims to recognize and honor the team of grassroots Association Chairmen and Branch Chairmen with outstanding achievements in the work of the Association and the women's movement. Thereby, creating conditions for the association officials to exchange, share, learn experiences, creative ways in the Association's activities and affirm the contributions of the team of grassroots Association officials, branch officials, and women's groups in successfully carrying out the assigned tasks.

This is also a practical activity to celebrate the 93rd anniversary of the founding of the Vietnam Women's Union (October 20, 1930 - October 20, 2023), and the 13th anniversary of Vietnamese Women's Day (October 20, 2010 - October 20, 2023).

Speaking at the forum, Ms. Hoang Thi Thanh Minh - Vice President of the Provincial Women's Union said that Nghe An Women's Union has 499 grassroots organizations, including 460 grassroots organizations in communes, wards and towns and 39 grassroots organizations in armed forces units.

The province currently has 3,816 women's associations. The staff of grassroots associations, association branches, and women's groups are increasingly younger, always conscious of improving their qualifications and capacity, basically meeting the increasingly high requirements of the Association's work.

Through the movement and work of the Association, many advanced models have emerged as Chairmen of the grassroots Associations and Heads of Women's Associations of different ages and regions. These forces are "both red and professional" cadres, pioneering in organizing and implementing many effective models, contributing positively to the overall results of the women's movement in the province.

Outstanding in implementing emulation movements“Building Nghe An women of the new era: Having knowledge, morality, health and aspiration to rise up, being responsible for themselves, their families and the Fatherland”, they have proactively and effectively implemented 1,268 practical and meaningful projects/works contributing to the construction of new rural areas and civilized urban areas with a total value of over 10 billion VND.

Activities to support women in creative start-ups, economic development, and sustainable poverty reduction have seen many innovations. The breakthrough “Supporting women in economic development, starting businesses, and starting successful businesses” has been effectively implemented.

The Association at all levels has effectively maintained the entrusted lending activities from the Social Policy Bank and the credit with the Bank for Agriculture and Rural Development. Up to now, the total capital source is 3,888 billion 875 million VND for 95,469 households to borrow. Continue to maintain and manage well the savings source at the branch with a savings balance of 41 billion 190 million VND, the number of participating members is 295,695.

With two breakthroughs "Innovating the Association's operation methods focusing on applying information technology" and"Focus on building a strong association base, accompanying branches and women's groups"The grassroots Women's Union has focused on strongly innovating the content and methods of operation according to the motto "Where there are women, there are Union activities" to ensure practicality, specificity, suitability for each object, locality, and region, meeting practical needs.

At the forum, 50 excellent grassroots Association Chairmen and 50 outstanding Women's Association Chairmen were honored, commended and received Certificates of Merit from the Women's Union at all levels.

In the face of the general development trend of the whole society with many intertwined opportunities and challenges, the Standing Committee of the Provincial Women's Union hopes that all levels of the Union will focus on implementing 4 key solutions. In particular, it is necessary to well implement the motto "The Central Government sets strategic directions, the province applies creatively, the district accompanies the grassroots, the commune firmly grasps the members, and the branches understand women".

Second, focus on training, fostering, and improving knowledge and skills for grassroots cadres, especially Chairmen, Vice Chairmen, and Branch Heads, so that women can increasingly meet the requirements and tasks of propaganda and mobilizing women.

Third, continue to direct the grassroots to innovate the content and methods of gathering women through appropriate topics, models, methods and examples; thoroughly implement the 3 solutions together: "Listen to women, speak for women to understand, do for women to follow".

Fourth, pay attention to proposing the development and effective implementation of programs and projects to create conditions for cadres, members and women to develop and rise up to affirm their position and role in family and society.
