Dismantling a loan sharking ring disguised as a finance company in Vinh city
(Baonghean.vn) - By setting up a financial support company to lend money at high interest rates, two people have lent billions of dong and earned hundreds of millions of dong each month.
On August 4, Vinh City Police (Nghe An) issued a decision to prosecute the case, prosecuting two defendants Tran Trong Hoang and Dau Xuan Hieu for the act of lending at high interest rates in civil transactions.
Through the investigation, the Investigation Team (Vinh City Police) discovered a group specializing in loan sharking “hiding” under the guise of a financial trading company. This group was led by Tran Trong Hoang, born in 1990, residing in block 12, Cua Nam ward, Vinh city. Hoang is also the Director of Tin Nghia Financial Support Company Limited, headquartered on Nguyen Xuan On street, Hung Binh ward, Vinh city.

Hoang was also assisted by Dau Xuan Hieu, born in 1998, residing in Block 10, Cua Nam Ward, Vinh City. After collecting sufficient documents and evidence, on July 17, 2020, the Vinh City Police Department conducted an emergency search warrant at Tran Trong Hoang's workplace at Tin Nghia Financial Support Company Limited and the residences of related subjects, seizing 120 documents related to borrowing money.
On July 20, 2020, Vinh City Police arrested Tran Trong Hoang and Dau Xuan Hieu for lending money at high interest rates in civil transactions. During the investigation, the Investigation Agency clarified that from the beginning of 2019 until the time of their arrest, Hoang and Hieu had lent money to many people, with a total amount of more than 6 billion VND. Initially, the Investigation Agency proved that the illegal profits in 01 month of the subjects were nearly 800 million VND.
