On November 12, the People's Court of Phu Tho province will conduct the first-instance trial of the trillion-dollar online gambling ring involving former Lieutenant General Phan Van Vinh.

To prepare for this special large-scale trial to take place in accordance with regulations, ensure security, order, traffic safety and ensure the best conditions for press agencies to report, during the past time, the People's Court of Phu Tho province has coordinated with relevant agencies to focus on mobilizing human resources and preparing necessary conditions.
VOV reporter interviewed Mr. Vu Anh Tuan - Deputy Chief Justice of Phu Tho Provincial People's Court.
PV:Sir, how has the People's Court of Phu Tho province prepared for the trial of the trillion-dollar online gambling case involving former Lieutenant General Phan Van Vinh?
Mr. Vu Anh Tuan: To ensure the trial, we have prepared adequate facilities. We have built a trial hall on a steel-roofed yard with an area of about 1,000m2.2In this room, we have arranged the trial table and chairs according to the trial model instructed by the Supreme People's Court, ensuring solemnity and having full technical means to ensure the trial of the case.
Currently, the loudspeaker equipment, projectors, preparation work, and forecasting of situations have been completed. We have also received requests from more than 30 press agencies to register to participate in reporting at the trial. We have arranged a room of more than 50m2.2 for reporters to work. This room is fully equipped so that reporters can observe the jury and hear sounds during the trial.
PV:This trial has nearly 100 defendants on trial and many related organizations and individuals participating, attracting public attention and many people also want to directly follow. So how does the People's Court of Phu Tho province and the relevant agencies take into account the issue of ensuring security, order and traffic safety at the trial?
Mr. Vu Anh Tuan: We have proactively coordinated with the Provincial Police to establish plans to protect the trial. As far as I know, the Police have also completed preparations and closely coordinated with the Court. To have plans to ensure safety, the Phu Tho Provincial Police have reported to the Ministry of Public Security and requested the Security Police Department, the Ministry of Public Security to come to Phu Tho to coordinate in protecting security and order. The Security Police Department has come to survey the actual scene and brought security inspection equipment.
In addition, because the Provincial People's Court is located on the main road in Viet Tri with many departments, agencies and branches of Phu Tho province, the police also have a traffic diversion plan to ensure convenience for people participating in traffic as well as those attending the trial during the trial.
PV:It can be said that this is one of the largest trials in the history of litigation in Phu Tho province, not only because of the nature of the case, the number of defendants, the number of people with related rights and obligations, and the large number of participants in the litigation, but also because among the defendants brought to trial, some have held leadership positions in the police force. Does this put pressure on the trial panel, sir?
Mr. Vu Anh Tuan: The case involves a number of people with positions of authority in the police force and a number of other agencies. However, we were not under any pressure during the trial; in court, everyone is equal and must comply with the provisions of the law. The trial panel will comply with the provisions of the Criminal Procedure Code, the Penal Code and other relevant legal documents.
