Communication, consulting on elderly health care

(Baonghean.vn) - On September 22 and 23, the Provincial Department of Population and Family Planning coordinated with the Anh Son District Population and Family Planning Center to organize communication and consultation on elderly health care in 4 communes: Binh Son, Tam Son, Vinh Son, and Duc Son.

This is an annual activity held since 2011, within the plan to implement activities of the "Community-based Elderly Care and Counseling" Model of the Provincial Department of Population and Family Planning. Attending the communication sessions were about 600 elderly people from 4 communes with the "Elderly people helping the elderly" model.

Through the communication sessions, the elderly were provided with knowledge about proper nutrition and exercise for the elderly, common diseases and prevention methods to help them take care of and protect themselves. The activities also aim to raise awareness of the Party and State's policies on population work related to the elderly; promote the role and dedication of individuals, families and society in improving physical and mental health, contributing to improving the quality of life of the elderly, helping the elderly "live happily - live healthily - live usefully".

The media program also incorporates cultural and artistic exchange performances through genres such as: folk songs, poems, jokes... performed by the elderly.

This is also one of the practical activities in response to the celebration of the International Day of Older Persons on October 1 this year.
