Golden marigolds on the self-managed route

(Baonghean.vn) - These days, when traveling through the roads of village 10, Phuc Son commune, Anh Son, everyone is impressed by the road filled with the yellow color of marigolds.

Ms. Truong Thi Thuy, village 10, Phuc Son commune, shared: Implementing the model of self-managed roads and planting flowers along the road, the village launched the road in front of her family first and promoted and mobilized the villagers to respond. At first, due to the mentality of "each house's alley is clean", flower planting was only carried out in a few households and 1/3 of the road.

Gradually, the colorful flower bushes and cleaner roads have changed the people's thinking. Now, the 300-meter concrete road that was once overgrown with weeds has been replaced by the yellow color of marigolds. Every weekend, everyone in the village gathers to weed, plant flowers and take care of them to ensure that the flowers are always green and lush.

In order to promote the role of people in building and protecting the environment and rural landscape, in 2016, after completing the concrete roads of the village, the Command Board of Village 10, Phuc Son Commune, implemented a model of planting flower roads.

Ms. Nguyen Thi Hoa - Head of Village 10, Phuc Son Commune said: Right from the beginning of the flower road planting, it received high support from the local Party Committee, government and enthusiastic participation from the villagers. Accordingly, the villagers chose the marigold variety that has good vitality, adapts to the environment, weather and blooms all year round.

First, the self-management groups selected a road longer than 300 m to test the flower road. After a while, the flower road was formed very beautifully and up to now, after a short time, the village has planted 2 flower roads with a length of more than 700 m and is in the process of propagating the flower road to all roads around the village.

Planting flowers to replace weeds in village 10, Phuc Son commune is a practical and effective model, contributing to protecting traffic safety corridors; protecting the environment; cleaning and beautifying rural landscapes, thereby raising people's sense of responsibility in joining hands to protect the environment associated with building "Clean - Green - Bright - Beautiful" villages in the new rural construction movement.
