Faced with many cases of car drivers arbitrarily attaching badges of agencies and departments such as the Ministry of Public Security, press agencies... as "amulets" when participating in traffic, the Traffic Police Department of Hanoi Police has taken action to rectify this situation.

On the streets of Hanoi, it is not difficult to see private cars with the "treasures" of press agencies, the Ministry of Public Security, the People's Security Academy and many central agencies attached to them to deal with traffic police, especially in cases of violations of the Road Traffic Law.

At the patrol and control checkpoint of Traffic Police Team No. 14, Hanoi Police, it was found that most of the vehicles with this badge were fake, borrowed, or asked for from others... For example, the car with license plate 30A-40687 had a C license plate of the Ministry of Information and Communications, which was originally used for vehicles transporting delegates, but upon verification, this was a private vehicle parked overnight at the Ministry.

Mr. Pham Duy Quang, the car owner, said that he parked his car overnight at the Ministry of Information and Communications, and was given permission by the security guard to enter and exit the gate, but he did not work for the Ministry of Information and Communications...

Along with press badges, there are also many private cars with the license plates of the Ministry of Public Security and the Academy of Security. When discovering a case of driving in the wrong lane, with the license plate K of the People's Security Academy on the windshield, the traffic police force signaled to stop and check. This was the parking badge of another car, borrowed by the violator and attached to his car for "convenience".

“The license plate was issued to me by my younger brother who works at the Security Academy. Today, my younger brother went back to his hometown so he put it up here. I left in a hurry so I forgot the relevant documents…” - the car owner said.

Lieutenant Colonel Pham Tuan Anh, Deputy Head of Traffic Police Team No. 14, Hanoi Police, said that although these badges are ineffective when participating in traffic, drivers still take advantage of these signs to violate traffic laws.

“People take advantage of those signs to violate traffic order. For example, when the road is congested, people drive in the wrong lane or run red lights. We will resolutely handle violating vehicles. Violating vehicles will be handled correctly. Vehicles that do not violate traffic laws will be required to remove the incorrect badges,” said Lieutenant Colonel Pham Tuan Anh.

In just 1 hour, there were dozens of cases where traffic police asked to remove invalid badges when participating in traffic. This fact shows that the authorities need to strictly control the issuance of badges for private cars, avoiding the situation of taking advantage as in the past./.
