In the joyful atmosphere welcoming the opening day of the 2022 school year, the children and teachers at Muong Piet school - Thong Thu 1 Primary School (Que Phong district) were deeply moved when this school year their familiar school was rebuilt to be more spacious and solid.

Mr. Tang Xuan Son - Principal of Thong Thu 1 Primary School happily said that Muong Piet school has the largest number of students among the 3 schools of Thong Thu 1 Primary School with a total of 193 students. The facilities here have degraded a lot, including 2 makeshift thatched classrooms. Facing rainy and windy days, these 2 classrooms are always the first to leak water, and are also the places that cannot block the cold monsoon winds. Although they feel sorry for the students, the teachers here are helpless. They can only work together to tie up the thatched roofs to make the house more sturdy against natural disasters.
But then, the worries of teachers and students in the remote border area were resolved when at the end of March this year, the Vietnam Volunteer Resource Information Center (under the Central Youth Union), Nghe An Provincial Youth Union, and Que Phong District Youth Union started construction of the "Beautiful School for Children" project to completely rebuild many items. With a total support resource of 430 million VND supported by the Vietnam Volunteer Resource Information Center, the local government and the youth union members in the area together completed the project with 2 classrooms, 1 office room, and 1 toilet. Thanks to that, Muong Piet school no longer has dilapidated thatched classrooms, but instead has two new, spacious classrooms. The project was inaugurated and officially put into use on the opening day of the new school year, creating great joy for students, parents, and teachers in this difficult land.

In addition to the above project, up to now, Nghe An Provincial Youth Union has called for and accompanied the Vietnam Volunteer Resource Information Center to sponsor the project "Beautiful School for Children" in 3 difficult areas of the province. Specifically, Pa Ca Kindergarten belongs to Nam Can Kindergarten, Nam Can Commune, Ky Son District with a total support of 280 million VND. Investing 320 million at Tong Khu village school, Na Ngoi 1 Primary School, Na Ngoi Commune, Ky Son District. At the same time, building a happy house for students in difficult circumstances in Truong Son village, Nam Can Commune, Ky Son District with a total value of 80 million VND.
Comrade Thai Minh Sy - Deputy Secretary of Nghe An Provincial Youth Union shared: The active participation of the Provincial Youth Union and Youth Union branches across the province has brought about 3 "Beautiful Schools for Children" projects and a number of "Happy Homes" for children in difficult circumstances. The investment in the construction of these items is very important in improving the quality of teaching and learning in mountainous, remote and isolated areas of our province. At the same time, it promotes the role of the Youth Union in volunteer activities for community life.

In addition to the three spacious schools built on difficult mountainous lands, during the past term, Nghe An Provincial Youth Union and its partners have called for resources to start the construction of four community bridges in Tan Ky, Con Cuong, Que Phong districts and Hoang Mai town. These are truly youth projects bearing the imprint of youth, aiming to bring practical projects to people in difficult areas.
Sharing about these meaningful projects, Secretary of the Provincial Youth Union Le Van Luong said that, witnessing the hardships of students and people in mountainous areas when the rainy season comes, especially in areas with dense river and stream systems, in 2021, the Standing Committee of Nghe An Provincial Youth Union and accompanying units called on grassroots Youth Union organizations, union members, youth, individuals, organizations, business communities, and philanthropists to join hands to support the successful construction of the project "Youth Bridge - Overcoming Floods with You" in Luu Thang village, Chieu Luu commune, Ky Son district. The steel arch bridge for people across Tieu stream is expected to be designed with a span of 15m, 1.7m wide; the approach roads at both ends of the bridge and the embankment system of the approach road is 120m long, with a total cost of nearly 800 million VND, which has truly changed this difficult land.
Following that success, this year, the groundbreaking of 3 community bridges in 3 mountainous districts of Con Cuong, Tan Ky, Que Phong is even more meaningful to welcome the 18th Congress of the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union of Nghe An province, the 12th National Youth Union Congress, term 2022 - 2027. After 2 months of mobilization, the Organizing Committee received the attention and sharing of organizations, individuals, businesses, teachers, and youth union members with a total support of about 2.7 billion VND. Combining the counterpart funds of Con Cuong, Tan Ky, Que Phong districts, the 3 bridges will soon be completed and put into use. After these 3 bridges, the Provincial Youth Union continues to call for the construction of the "Solidarity Bridge" project in Quynh Loc commune, Hoang Mai town worth 600 million VND. Bridge construction is a long-term, core support that has a positive impact on all aspects of people's lives in the beneficiary areas, creating an important premise in ensuring people's lives and developing the economy and society in a sustainable and practical manner.

The 2017-2022 term is a very special term because for more than two years, the Youth Union and the youth movement of Nghe An province had to flexibly adapt to the prevention of the Covid-19 pandemic and at the same time carry out the political tasks of the locality and the Youth Union. However, with the efforts of cadres, union members, and youth in the whole province, the Youth Union and the Youth Movement have achieved many important results. Notably, there are 3 major movements that the youth of the whole province unanimously carried out: "Youth Volunteers"; "Creative Youth"; "Youth Volunteers to Protect the Fatherland". These movements have further demonstrated their role when the whole province faced the Covid-19 pandemic, the Youth Union, Association, and Team organizations have flexibly innovated the content and methods of operation to suit practical requirements.

Accordingly, the Provincial Youth Union coordinated with sectors to establish and maintain 750 rapid response youth volunteer teams to participate in propaganda, mobilization, disease prevention and control at the provincial level and in 21/21 districts, cities and towns with more than 45,000 union members and youths participating. These teams organized more than 6,450 activities to support people in disease prevention; visited, gave gifts and supported over 5,780 young workers in difficult circumstances due to the impact of the Covid-19 pandemic. Many new models and good practices were implemented such as participating in community Covid Teams "Going to every alley - Knocking on every door", propagating the installation of Bluezone, Ncovi software, medical declaration, wearing masks, measuring body temperature, social distancing...; coordinating with the health sector to call on volunteers and medical students to participate in the fight against the epidemic; Established 485 teams with nearly 8,795 volunteers to support vaccination teams to vaccinate people in the province against Covid-19.
In addition, 3 accompanying programs including: "Accompanying young people in studying"; "Accompanying young people in starting a business and establishing a career"; "Accompanying young people in training and developing life skills, improving physical fitness, cultural and spiritual life" have also been specified and implemented by the Youth Union and Association at all levels in accordance with the practical life, aspirations of young people and closely following the political tasks of the province and the country.

Looking back at the past term, the Youth Union and Association at all levels have provided career counseling and guidance to more than 270,000 young people; introduced and solved jobs for 87,000 young people. Supported 180 start-up projects for young people. Mobilized more than 91,000 blood donations; organized medical examinations and provided medicine for 95,000 people. Regarding Party building work, the Youth Union organizations have introduced 31,600 outstanding members to the Party; of which 18,803 were admitted to the Party. The whole Union has admitted 150,030 new members.
These are figures that demonstrate the role of Nghe An youth in overcoming difficulties, contributing to building a rich and strong province, developing comprehensively in all areas of life. The development of the province is the driving force for Nghe An youth to constantly strive, as Uncle Ho advised when he was alive: "Today, educated by the Party, guided by the Youth Union, our youth must volunteer to be exemplary in morality, in living, in studying, in working; must carry out the slogan "Wherever there is need, there is youth, wherever there is difficulty, there is youth".
