On the occasion of the 92nd anniversary of the Party's Propaganda Sector's Traditional Day (August 1, 1930 - August 1, 2022), Nghe An Newspaper had an interview with comrade Nguyen Thi Thu Huong - Member of the Standing Committee, Head of the Provincial Party Committee's Propaganda Department about the achievements, as well as the key tasks set for the coming time.
PV: Dear comrade, since the beginning of the 2020-2025 term, along with the whole country, our province has faced many difficulties and challenges. In that context, what innovations has the Propaganda Department made to fulfill its mission: "Going first to pave the way, going together to develop, going after to summarize"?
Comrade Nguyen Thi Thu Huong:The past 92 years have left many valuable lessons, which are provisions for the Nghe An Propaganda Department to fulfill its mission well on the path of development. In recent years, facing the complicated developments and profound impacts of the Covid-19 pandemic on all aspects of economic and social life, posing enormous challenges for the entire political system. In that context, the entire sector has been proactive, sensitive, flexible, creative, and actively innovating the content and methods of operation to carry out the assigned tasks, better meeting the requirements of the tasks with the spirit of: "Determination, urgency, seriousness, high responsibility, with a focus on key points and breakthroughs; promptly removing bottlenecks to improve the quality and effectiveness of work" in the aspects of ideology, politics, information, propaganda, press - publishing, foreign information, science and education; protect the Party's ideological foundation, fight and refute wrong and hostile viewpoints;... In particular, the industry has actively applied digital platforms to improve work efficiency in a diverse and vivid manner, suitable for the specific characteristics of Covid-19 prevention and control, as well as overcoming difficulties in natural conditions and terrain.
These results have contributed to deepening the relationship between the People and the Party; the Party's will and the People's heart are in harmony, so many major decisions and policies of the Party, the State, and the province are clearly understood, trusted, supported, and enthusiastically implemented by cadres, party members, and the People. From there, it has contributed to arousing the spirit of solidarity and consensus of the entire political system and the People, joining hands and wholeheartedly implementing the "dual goal": both developing the economy and effectively preventing and fighting the Covid-19 epidemic; ensuring stability of the political security situation and social order and safety; determined to strive to successfully implement the Resolution of the 13th National Party Congress and the Resolution of the 19th National Party Congress of the Provincial Party Committee.
Up to now, Nghe An has controlled the Covid-19 epidemic, the province's economy continues to recover strongly and has many bright spots. The GRDP growth rate in the first 6 months of this year reached 8.44%, ranking 2nd in the North Central region, 18/63 provinces and cities nationwide. This result is the resonance of the great strength of the entire people, under the close leadership and direction of the Standing Committee, the Provincial Party Committee Standing Committee, the Provincial Party Committee Executive Committee and the great efforts of the entire political system. The Propaganda Department is honored and proud to contribute a part of its efforts to the important development steps of the province.
PV: So what key tasks will the Propaganda Department continue to focus on in the coming time, when the requirements for Party building, socio-economic development, etc. are increasingly higher, comrade?
Comrade Nguyen Thi Thu Huong:The Resolution of the 19th Provincial Party Congress, term 2020 - 2025, clearly stated: "Continue to innovate and improve the effectiveness of political and ideological work", therefore, requiring the province's propaganda work to always deepen thinking to promote innovative thinking in both thinking and doing, content and method. In particular, it is necessary to focus on the following key tasks:
The first:Continue to promote propaganda work, create high unity in the entire Party, political system and society on guidelines, policies, viewpoints, goals, tasks, and solutions to implement the Resolution of the 13th National Party Congress, the Resolution of the 19th National Party Congress of the Provincial Party Committee. From there, strongly arouse the will, aspiration to rise up, determined to fulfill the "Lam River aspiration"; build the province to become a fairly developed province in the Northern region by 2025 and the whole country by 2030; successfully fulfill the wishes of President Ho Chi Minh during his lifetime for his homeland.
Monday: Focus on advising Party committees at all levels to strengthen leadership and direction of Party building work in terms of politics, ideology, and ethics, focusing on disseminating the work of General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong: "Some theoretical and practical issues on socialism and the path to socialism in Vietnam"; implementing Conclusion No. 01-KL/TW of the Politburo on continuing to implement Directive No. 05 of the Politburo (12th tenure) "On promoting the study and following of Ho Chi Minh's ideology, morality, and lifestyle" in conjunction with the Central Resolution (12th tenure) on strengthening Party building and rectification; preventing and repelling the degradation of political ideology, morality, lifestyle, and manifestations of "self-evolution" and "self-transformation" within the Party; Conclusion No. 21-KL/TW dated October 25, 2021 of the 13th Central Executive Committee on promoting Party building and rectification and the political system; Resolutely prevent, repel, and strictly handle cadres and party members who have degraded political ideology, ethics, and lifestyle, and who show signs of "self-evolution" and "self-transformation"; and regulations on setting examples for cadres and party members, especially leaders.
Tuesday:Strengthen the work of protecting the Party's ideological foundation, fighting against erroneous and hostile viewpoints; continue to advise Party committees to lead, direct and effectively implement Decision No. 238-QD/TW dated September 30, 2020 of the Party Central Committee Secretariat (12th tenure) on "Regulations on coordination between the Propaganda Department at all levels and state agencies at the same level in law enforcement, implementing socio-economic development plans, and resolving outstanding issues of public concern".
Wednesday: Synchronously and effectively deploy propaganda, press, publishing, culture, arts, public opinion, foreign information, science and education. In particular, in the field of culture and arts, it is necessary to pay due attention and take active measures to preserve and promote the good and unique cultural values of Nghe An land and people, in accordance with the very basic guiding viewpoint of the Party stated in the Document of the 13th National Party Congress: "Economic development is the center; Party building is the key; cultural development is the spiritual foundation; ensuring national defense and security is essential and regular".
PV: So, to most effectively carry out the above tasks, on the occasion of the industry's traditional day, do you have any message for the team of people working in Propaganda in the province?
Comrade Nguyen Thi Thu Huong:The practical requirements of the tasks require that propaganda work continue to focus on the grassroots, stay close to the people, and have a firm grasp of the area. Propaganda officers must always be steadfast in their political stance; constantly learn and further improve their qualifications and working methods; and make digital transformation and the application of information technology a regular task and an effective means to serve professional work.
In particular, as the message of comrade Nguyen Trong Nghia - Secretary of the Party Central Committee, Head of the Central Propaganda Department, sent to the Propaganda cadres nationwide at the National Conference to review the propaganda work in the first 6 months of the year and deploy tasks for the last 6 months of 2022 held in Nghe An recently was: The leadership team and cadres of the whole sector need to always be full of aspiration, will, always have a "warm heart" to boldly advise, boldly carry out and successfully implement the assigned tasks.
