Implementing the Campaign "All people unite to build new rural areas and civilized urban areas", the Fatherland Front Committees at all levels in Nghe An have promoted their core role, directing activities into specifics to arouse people's awareness and strength in the spirit of "People know, people discuss, people do, people check, people supervise, people benefit".
Coming to Yen Son hamlet, Hoa Son commune (Do Luong district), we were impressed by the road full of bougainvillea flowers leading to the village gate with the inscription "Taking people as the root". Mr. Thai Dinh Thanh - Head of the Front Work Committee of Yen Son hamlet enthusiastically introduced the initial achievements in implementing the residential area model "Bright - Green - Clean - Beautiful - Safe" and "Clean house - Beautiful garden - Civilized alley" associated with building advanced new rural areas.
Yen Son hamlet has more than 400 households with more than 1,600 people, including 51 Catholic households with more than 250 people. Chairwoman of the Hoa Son Commune Fatherland Front Committee, Thai Thi Nam Hoa, said: To implement the model, the Commune Fatherland Front Committee, together with the Party Cell, Executive Committee, and Front Work Committee of Yen Son hamlet, selected 31 adjacent households to initially build a flower road with flower beds, street lighting connected to the national flag road; the total cost of implementation was more than 230 million VND contributed by people and children far from home, and the Commune Fatherland Front Committee mobilized an additional 42.5 million VND. The priest of Xuan Son parish in the area also supported 2,000 bricks to build the model.
Many people not only contributed money and labor but also contributed flower seeds to plant, and did not forget to come back and take good care of them every day; like Ms. Thai Thi Huong who donated dozens of bougainvillea seedlings just because of a simple thought: "planting flowers will beautify the village, the neighborhood, and the family". Accompanying the people in the residential area, the cadres of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Hoa Son commune not only launched the movement but also spent Saturdays and Sundays going down to the hamlet to roll up their sleeves and work with the people after office hours. With sincerity, closeness, talking and doing, accompanying the people, the cadres doing the Front work in Hoa Son have become the core to build a solid solidarity block, mobilizing the people's strength to care for the people, for the community and the village.
That is also the story of the Front cadres in Nghi Dien commune (Nghi Loc district), where 72% of the population are Catholics and where the Vinh Diocese's headquarters is located. Catholic Nguyen Van Nguyen has been the Head of the Front Work Committee of Quyet Thang hamlet, Nghi Dien commune for 6 years. Before working for the Front, Mr. Nguyen had 16 years of experience as a hamlet chief. Therefore, with 320 households with more than 1,000 people, of which 99.7% are Catholic, Mr. Nguyen is like a family member. People are impressed by his gentle nature, his enthusiasm for religious and worldly affairs, and he always completes all his tasks well. As for him, his philosophy of life and work is simply to contribute a part of his efforts to build the village and parish to grow.
Mr. Nguyen Van Nguyen has been a pioneer in many things, such as building new rural areas. To mobilize people, he discussed with his son to donate family land along the inter-commune road, which is worth about 500 million VND at market price. "To gain people's trust, we have to do each specific action," Mr. Nguyen shared. In addition to announcing on the hamlet's loudspeaker, he and the hamlet's Front Work Committee coordinated with dignitaries and officials to deploy, mobilize... mobilize people to build infrastructure, and make the hamlet look spacious. In 2019, Head of the Front Work Committee Nguyen Van Nguyen as well as the people in the commune shared the joy of the commune being recognized as meeting new rural standards, contributing to making Nghi Loc district one of the first 5 district-level units in Nghe An to meet new rural standards a year later. Currently, the Catholic and non-Catholic people in Nghi Dien commune and the political system are striving to build advanced new rural areas.
To achieve these results, one of the important factors is that the cadres working for the Fatherland Front have clearly demonstrated their role as the core of solidarity, building a close coordination relationship between the Fatherland Front and the dignitaries and officials in religious establishments, accompanying and "speaking with one voice" with the commune leaders and hamlet cadres to arouse the people's internal strength to build new rural areas.
Chairman of the Fatherland Front Committee of Nghi Dien Commune Nguyen Duc Son said: In the process of building new rural areas, the Fatherland Front Committee of the commune has advised the Party Committee and the commune government to choose points to focus on directing, drawing experience, replicating and spreading, creating sustainability in each criterion. The Front cadres from the commune to the hamlet are the ones who directly propagate and mobilize, and with their dedicated spirit, working with the movement, they have inspired and spread it among the people. Recent practice shows that the results are very high, in Nghi Dien many households are willing to contribute from 10 to 50 million VND, some households have donated billions of VND to build infrastructure.
Implementing the Campaign "All people unite to build new rural areas and civilized urban areas", the Fatherland Front at all levels in Nghe An has also selected specific models and contents to mobilize or call for, and take advantage of the coordination of organizations, agencies, units and enterprises to implement. In Thanh Chuong district during this time, a clear mark of the Front is to preside over the construction of "Model self-management groups". For example, in Thanh Lien commune, the competitive atmosphere of building advanced new rural areas and moving towards model new rural areas is being widely promoted. Based on the policy of the Commune Party Committee, each socio-political organization "shoulders" a "spearhead", the Commune Fatherland Front Committee and the Front Working Committee of hamlets preside over the construction of "Model self-management groups" to build hamlets: "Green - Clean - Beautiful", "Beautiful gardens - Clean houses".
Comrade Le Thiet Hung - Permanent Vice Chairman of the Fatherland Front Committee of Thanh Chuong district said: In the district, 301 "model self-management groups"/2,249 self-management groups have been built. The model self-management groups focus on promoting the role of the people as the main subjects in implementing the political tasks of the localities, especially in building new rural areas and advanced new rural areas; especially aiming to preserve and strengthen village and neighborhood relationships and spread traditional cultural features to improve the quality of life, as well as the awareness and responsibility of each person towards the community and society.
For Nam Dan district, the local Party Committee and People are focusing on building a model new rural district in the direction of developing culture associated with tourism. Promoting its role, the Fatherland Front Committee at all levels in the district has coordinated with members to mobilize people to build model gardens, new rural standard gardens; build residential area models: "Bright - Green - Clean - Beautiful"; build residential areas and model new rural communes. From 5 pilot models in 5 communes, it has now spread widely to all residential areas in the whole district.
In 2022, Do Luong district strives for the communes of Trang Son, Dong Son, Hoa Son, Van Son, Tan Son, Thinh Son, Lam Son, Xuan Son, Trung Son and Dang Son to meet the advanced new rural standards, Yen Son commune to meet the model new rural standards, and Do Luong town to maintain and improve the civilized urban criteria. In particular, Do Luong district is determined to meet the new rural standards.
Chairwoman of the Do Luong District Fatherland Front Committee, Vuong Thi Quy, said: The Front has launched a campaign to 33 communes and towns in the district to launch the campaign "Building new rural districts, advanced new rural communes, and model new rural areas from March 18 to December 18, 2022". The District Fatherland Front Committee has developed plans, contents, tasks, specific products, and maximized the role of the people as the main subject, the pioneering and exemplary spirit of cadres, party members, union members, and association members to complete 7 targets, 25 district-level projects, and 320 grassroots-level projects.
