(Baonghean) - Our province is implementing the Project of Developing Unburnt Bricks until 2020. This is considered a revolution in construction materials, both exploiting the potential in the area and saving fuel. At the meeting with the sectors about this project in July, comrade Ho Duc Phoc - Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee concluded: From 2014 onwards, for public works, regardless of state or private capital, 30% of the total unburnt bricks must be used. In addition, super-light concrete bricks are also encouraged.

It is known that the target of Nghe An province by 2013 will reach 100 million unburnt bricks/year. By 2020: Nghe An's target will reach 1 billion bricks/year. Currently, in Nghe An, there are unburnt brick projects being implemented including: Super light concrete block brick project in Dong Hoi Industrial Park, Hoang Mai Town - Quynh Luu with a capacity of 400,000m3/year, equivalent to 200 million bricks/year. Unburnt brick project in Truong Thach Industrial Park (Nghi Loc), with a capacity of 45 million bricks/year; unburnt brick project in Do Lang Industrial Park - Nghi Lam - Nghi Loc; Lightweight concrete block brick production project in Thai Hoa Town, with a capacity of 400,000 m3/year, equivalent to 200 million bricks/year and Kieu Phuong Company's unburnt brick project in Tan Ky, with a capacity of 15 million tons/year.

With the above request of the provincial leaders, it is expected to clear the output for unburnt brick projects, which is a development trend of the times in the construction sector, while contributing to environmental protection, returning agricultural land and reducing the use of fossil fuels. By 2020, the province will stop operating brick kilns and manual brick kilns.
